“Lovely inexpensive. Must try REAL Indian food.”
Reviewed March 14, 2014 via mobile

The food here is lovely. If you're expecting typical restaurant indian food then this is not the place.

I am amazed by all Hare Krishna restaurant food always has the same great taste. Its homely and being of Indian origin I can honestly say its a great place to be. There is music in the background chanting Krishna's name, its soothing and relaxing.

I highly recommend it. :)

“Simple, delicious and inexpensive”
Reviewed March 2, 2014

We are not vegetarian but do not eat meat - and this place (discovered on Tripadvisor) was perfect for an inexpensive and casual meal at the end of a days sightseeing. It's a basement restaurant with simple décor, where staff serve your choices from a buffet counter, which you then take to a table - it's not a fancy place, no alcohol and not really a place to linger but the food was delicious and flavoursome and not too spicy. I think we spent around 6000ft for three of us (including a homemade lemonade) and although it was a little tricky to find, it's worth the effort if you are seeking a meat free meal out.

“Tasteful variety of vegetarian food”
Reviewed February 27, 2014

Service is fast and kind. (it is self service anyway, but you have to ask ovet the counter) Prices are a bit high, but it is Budapest downtown.
Food is tasteful, and offers a good variety.

“"Relaxed Calm easy going atmosphere but the food was great"****”
Reviewed February 25, 2014

Found the restaurant by mistake as we got lost walking around the back of the St stephens Church,it was raing and we were hungry and ver delighted to have found this lovely basement restaurant.Pure vegetarian food and very tastey not to spicey and not to bland.Run by the Hare Krishna, so the price is very affordable for all, donations are welcome and they have a small shop to purchase religious Hindu books and other items.
Service is buffet style with no frills etc, but i must say just being here was a pleasure and finished with empty plates felt full up after a long time on veggi food.
Its open from 11am to 9pm Mon to Fri and Saturday 12pm to 9pm closed on Sunday

“Great food, fair atmosphere”
Reviewed February 9, 2014

This is probably the best choice for vegetarians visiting Budapest. The food was very good, with plenty of options. The prices were also excellent. Sadly, the atmosphere is not as great, as the restaurant is really small, and underground, which makes it a tad claustrophobic. The kitchen was quite noisy, too (situated right next to some tables). The staff were helpful (although customer service is far from Nordic standards, and so is the staff's English skills). Bottom line, this is the best choice for a vegetarian meal in Budapest, but only because of the almost complete lack of competition.
