We have been going to Fenyőgyöngye Vendéglő for the past twelve years. The food is traditional Hungarian, well prepared and tasty, and the portions are large. There is a large selection of soups, salads, entreés and desserts to choose from. The servers are attentive and friendly. English menus are available. The restaurant is on the edge of the Budapest landscape-protection area, a perfect starting...or finishing point for hikes in the Buda Hills.
The restaurant is easy to find using public transportation. Take the Number 17 tram from the Buda side of the Margít bridge to Kolosy tér (four stops from Margít bridge) and transfer to the Number 65 bus. The bus stop is on Szépvölgyi út, about 1/2 block uphill from the tram stop. The restaurant is at the end of the Number 65 bus route, about a 10-to-15 minute ride from Kolosy tér.
