Description: Our new menu and cocktail assortment is compiled to enable everybody to find the real thing. The one he/she likes, in the way we prepare only in Buena Vista. Our restaurant is an isle of tranquility in the hectic life of “Liszt Ferenc” square. It is an excellent place for business dinners or parties after theater performances. Even company presentations or cocktail parties may be organized for a few persons in the private rooms. Our chef makes both international and domestic courses while is eager to serve such with care since both the mouth and the eye are to be pleased in our restaurant. Our guests may take the liberty of relying on the recommendations of our waiters – disappointment is excluded! Café / Terrace ‘A coffee please’ – asks the guest without guessing that these words have an entirely different meaning in the café and terrace of Buena Vista than at other places. Here the Guest is given not only the drink from freshly roasted coffee beans but also mood, joy and buzzing. Or, may the guests of Buena Vista choose the convenient arm-chairs and easy chairs for this very reason? If so, it is needless to say that in addition to the dozens of coffee and tea specialties, light salads, food specialties as well as delicious desserts are also offered on the menu to our guests. “A fine place for dinner”
Reviewed March 17, 2012

Good food, good wine, kind and helpful staff. We spent there really nice evening. Although the food was not perfect (lots of herbs in cheese jacket or absence of salt in chicken breast) the atmosphere and the staff was so nice that we didn't care.

“Loved it”
Reviewed March 5, 2012

Innovative take on traditional Hungarian cuisine. Nice ambient. The portions are a bit smaller and the prices a bit higher then in other restaurants, but still great value for money.

“Tapas portions are too small, but great desserts”
Reviewed December 1, 2011

We went there for tapas and were very surprised at the portions - each serving of tapas was squeezed into a tiny sauce bowl. I would personally head over to Pata Negra at Kalvin ter for larger servings of more delicious food.

We had their chilli chicken wings and bruschetta, the former was quite nice, definitely not the same tabasco flavor as buffalo wings nor sweet chilli flavor of thai chilli sauce, but a more sweet/sour combination. The bruschetta has onion chopped into the tomato spread on top but it really wasn't very nice.

The restaurant was empty at lunch and i can understand why. The main draw of the place was its desserts. We had a blueberry creme brulee, the belgian chocolate souffle as well as a hazelnut parfait. The creme brulee was excellent, the chocolate souffle was so so, and the hazelnut parfait was quite good. The only complaint is that the fruit compote that comes with it seems to be a bit stale.

Each serving of tapas (like mussels or prawns) comes in tiny bowls of two pieces. The herb roasted mushrooms were served cold (not sure when exactly the roasting was done) but the saffron cream sauce for the mussels was really yummy. Too bad the portions are too small.

“Certainly not up to our expectations.”
Reviewed August 18, 2011

At first glance, the menu seemed to be interesting. Unfortunatly, the food turned out to be bland, tasteless, and with unusual small portion for Hungary. The wine list was poor. To top it off, the prices were not competitive compared to other restaurant on List Ferenc Ter.

“Nice ambience”
Reviewed August 8, 2011

We went looking for a place to eat around this Liszt Ferenc tér area as recommended by our hotel. There were many restaurants along this street with outdoor seating. After walking and looking around, we picked Buena Vista, based on looks & menu choices alone. Seriously, we know nothing so we took a chance, why not. And it didn't disappoint. We had great portion, great service, ok price...just a great night.
