We were in this restaraunt for three different times.
Drinks were good and if you want to drink more and save money, there is a happy hour from Sunday to Thursday between 17-20 (5-8pm). Every drink is for half price.

We ate a few times too. The food was good but not the best one. But onion soup was really good!

The service was good and really fast. Also it is a good place to observe people going by and follow the traffic.

I have been in quite a few TGI Friday's restaurants around the world, and I like them because of their laid back atmosphere, the excellent ingredients and the creativity of the meals.

The Oktogon restaurant is a reliable spot if you want to eat a really good burger or an excellent steak. The service is better in the Westend unit (only one tram stop away from here!), but this one is adequate also.

The food is so good it somehow bumps up the overall rating.

However, if you are a foreigner, I don't think you should go to an American franchise restaurant, as in Budapest there are tons of superb local bistros, restaurants and street food joints!

I wouldn't normally choose a TGIF Friday as I first tried one in Aberdeen and everything was awful fro service to food, drinks etc but here in Budapest where food is pretty dire and its dominated by McDonald's and KFC etc plus kebab places with food left standing in the heat half prepared. Our meal was delivered in a polite friendly but not American way and the price was fair. So ok it isn't going to win prizes but where in Budapest would its a throwback to communist era city and this is a bit of an oasis.

Decided to visit here for a evening meal, BIG mistake. Walked in to the restaurant and was seated by the over polite waiter, ordered drinks and food( burger and a steak for my partner) we received our drinks however nearly waited an hour for our food! I got the waiters attention and asked him what the delay was he said the restaurant was busy and they are trying to get the food over. This is unacceptable its much faster and better service in the uk! The food was rubbish a stinking burger with red bits in and cold disgusting fries which i would not of fed my dog. My partner didn't enjoy the steak either. What a rubbish end to a nice day in Budapest it would of been much better if we had gone to mc Donald's, least standards probably would of been better. Tip: do not waste your money in this restaurant go elsewhere.
