Description: A little Greece on the riverbank of the Danube... Dionysos moved to the Pest bank of the River Danube on New Year's Eve 1993 and has since delighted the dwellers of our city with delicacies of Greek cuisine and delicious wine of its vineyards. The air is filled with the fragrance of char-grilled meats and fishes, fresh-cut vegetables and crispy-baked home style bread. Thanks to the friendly atmosphere, diners chit-chat casually around the tables, which blends pleasantly into the melodies of Greek music playing in the background. It is good to be in this restaurant. The pampering feeling of authentic entertainment accompanies the guests from the moment they enter up until they leave. We hope you visit us soon so that we may entertain you for a few hours here in little Greece of Budapest!

This is a tricky one. Ultimately you are paying for the location - on the bank of the Danube, on the heated terrace, it's pretty beautiful. The service is good too - However, this was not the best meal I had in Budapest, but it was the most expensive. I had the calamari main course - it was a very good size portion and very tasty - I think the general area of Belvaros is a bit of a tourist trap - maybe better to walk through by day - but not to eat at night...

We were there on a birthday celebration lunch with family of 2 small kids.
Perfectly clean restaurant, helpful staff, fast service with the foods and they felt when we needed assistance, otherwise we were left in privacy.
Great thing is the gift toy to choose for the kids upon arrival!
Nice greek ambient music, not disturbing or too loud at all.
Show kitchen with charcoal grill, but without any food smell at all around.
After ordered a whole fish, they arrived to the table with it before cooking for confirmation about size and quality, the fish was absolutely fresh.
The lamb chops were also cooked perfectly.
Appetizers were tasty and fresh, with nice authentic decor.

The prices are a bit expensive for locals, but reasonable for what you get.

The food portions are huge, if you are not a heavyweight lifter and would like to eat 3 courses, most probably you will leave some on each plate (or you do not move for 2 hours).
The kids food was actually so huge, that could have been enough for an adult, they both left the half of it on the plate.
When the pre-organized cake arrived with fireworks, all the waiters gathered around the table and actually were singing happy birthday!
One of them took a picture and about 5 minutes later we received the picture printed in a logoed frame!!!

Settling the bill took a bit longer than it should have taken, considering that the restaurant was only half full.

Upon departure my wife and my daughter both got a rose from the house!

great place to visit if you like greek ambient and food

This Greek restaurant is an absolute must during your stay in Budapest. The staff are so friendly and accommodating - they make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. We were served by a number of different waiters throughout the evening and everyone was willing to take the time to make recommendations and attend to your needs. We requested a table outside and advised if we were too cold we come inside - they gave us blankets. The atmosphere was lovely and the food to die for. We had mussels and feta baked to start and a sharing platter for main - which I highly recommend. Plenty of food and this way you get to try a little of everything. Wine was great also. Complimentary bread and fruit during meal and a lily at the end.

Highly recommend. One of the best Greek meals I have had with a top notch service delivering it.

We came across the taverna on a walk along The Danube and so glad we did! The menu was extensive with all the dishes you would expect. We had Kalamari for starters and Gyros for mains. It transported us back to summer holidays on Rhodes. Authentic tastes and ingredients. The staff were lovely and welcoming. The taverna is decorated beautifully and it is spotlessly clean. Well worth a visit if you love Greece and it's food.
