All the info on travel forums on Gundel make it seem a place to opulent and out of reach. While it is an institution alright, the staff are very welcoming. The sunday brunch spread is excellent. It included a glass of bubbly and the tables are heaving with starters, mains, freshly grilled meats and lovely desserts. All this served in old world charm of silver and porcelain.
