Description: Vibrant and inspiring, yet casual and affordable, KOLLÁZS - Brasserie & Bar is a contemporary European brasserie in a landmark Budapest location, overlooking the Chain Bridge and the Danube River. The Hungarian word for "collage," KOLLÁZS highlights creative combinations in all aspects of the dining experience. The interior design reflects the artistic era of the 1910s and '20s, honouring Art Nouveau style and Budapest's legendary coffee house culture. Conceived by EDG Design of San Francisco, the look is a collage of the old and new, the luxurious and simple, in keeping with the character of Budapest. Bringing together four distinct focal points - the rotisserie, bar, wine cellar and patisserie - as well as a convertible, all-season terrace, the environment feels hip and comfortable, whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner. To contrast the historic interior, the artwork on display is contemporary, featuring regularly changing shows curated by Art Market Budapest, the organizer of Eastern Europe's top international contemporary art fair. Chef Árpád Györffy - previously chef at Arany Kaviár and sous-chef at Alabárdos in Budapest - has created a menu that blends local and international flavors, as well as traditional and modern dishes. The focus is on modern European and French brasserie cuisine with signature Hungarian specialties. Cocktails are traditional yet with chic, modern flair, based on a bar menu created by Jaime Jones, the London-based international bar consultant and global gin connoisseur. Kollázs's sommelier, Mátyás Szik, has won twice the Hungarian Sommelier Championship - in 2013 and 2014 - and was previously head sommelier at Budapest's Prime Steak & Wine. The music at KOLLÁZS blends well-known songs, such as Hungarian and French tracks from the 1950s and '60s, with modern sounds - in a soundtrack selected exclusively for the restaurant. Headed by restaurant manager Mihály Kártyás, the KOLLÁZS team provides service that is casual, friendly and social. As part of the plan to create a lively atmosphere, the restaurant offers reasonable prices that are intended to attract an eclectic mix of people. As Budapest emerges as a modern metropolis, KOLLÁZS perfectly captures the dynamic spirit of the city: historic yet contemporary, timeless yet fresh, glamorous yet relaxed. KOLLÁZS promises to become one of Budapest's most popular dining destinations - welcoming with understated, informal elegance.

Firstly, this is a gorgeous room and also offers al fresco seating as well. We visited on a brief visit to Budapest just in time for the "Grill Party" which in effect is a Sunday Brunch with chefs offering grilled meats and fish. Our meal started with appetisers and a rose spritzer (which was so good, I had another..) and then we headed inside to choose or grilled main courses. In classic Four Seasons manner, the service was attentive and discreet but most welcoming. Check this lovely place out even if the Grill Party is not on, it is a lovely and very reasonably priced.

We stayed 2 nights at the Four Seasons post river cruise and had a lunch and dinner in their restaurant. Both were great experiences- tasty food, excellent service and reasonable prices. Very convenient for hotel guests and others.
The roasted chicken was especially tasty and the peach Melba dessert was yummy!

This is a lovely restaurant and despite being inside one of the most expensive hotels in Budapest, is actually very reasonable for the quality of food that is served.

I had bone marrow for starter, followed by neck of veal with roasted onions and washed down with a lovely Argentinian Malbec.

The service was brilliant and when I managed to knock some red wine down myself, the waiter calmly appeared with a wet flannel and complimented me on my ability to keep my cool!

Like everywhere in Budapest, service charge is a mandatory addition to the bill, however, you will be more than happy to show your gratitude for the food and service.

I would eat here monthly, if I lived in Budapest. And had the money!

My wife and I had an anniversary dinner at Kollazs and had a wonderful evening. The food was delicious and the service couldn't have been better. Very attentive staff and good recommendations for food and wine. All at a very reasonable price that was a great value for the quality of food and level of service.

We found this restaurant thanks to Trip Advisor. Don't let the pretension surrounding the Four Seasons brand intimidate you. The staff at Kollazs are friendly, warm and unpretentious while being very professional. The room and bar are beautiful. The food was excellent. Our server, Peter, was great at romancing the menu and offering spot on advice when asked. He was warm and attentive.
We started with cocktails. The bartender had no problem with our off-menu requests for a dry vodka martini and a French martini. The Hungarian wine pairings suggested by Peter were perfect. I started with the foie gras from the regular starter menu. Beautifully presented and so creamy. My spouse had the traditional French onion soup. He said it was one of the best he's ever had. My starter was around $14 and the soup was about $7. (Sorry for sharing the prices but I want to show you that it is not outrageously expensive). For Mains, I went with the wild Scottish salmon served on a bed of creamed peas. My spouse had the beef tenderloin which came with pommes frites. He loved it, but said that the 'medium' cooking was a bit too red for him. He would have also liked a bit more pommes frites. The mains were under $21!
For dessert, again we went to Peter. He recommended the French Toast. Wow! Don't let the name fool you, the toast part of the dessert is rich and creamy. Like everything else, the presentation and taste were outstanding. It was enough for us to share.
The biggest surprise--a First Class experience without sticker shock. Like many others have said, the prices are very reasonable given the quality of the food and dining experience. We will make Kollazs a stop on every future trip to Budapest.
Thanks to Peter and the staff at Kollazs for making our final meal in Budapest such a memorable one.

Please excuse my delayed response; however I still wished to thank you for your kind praising feedback posted a few days ago. I was delighted to note that you and your spouse had a great dining experience in our KOLLÁZS Brasserie & Bar recently, especially as this was your last dinner in Budapest. It is wonderful that we managed to impress you with the quality of our food and cocktails. Thank you for enlisting every item you tried and particularly enjoyed from the menu, your recommendations are truly appreciated.
