We had been on the Free Jewish Walking tour which ended here and brought our daughters back to it. the Ruin bars are an interesting leftover from bars that have never been revamped. This is a quirky example - old skis used as seats, a car used as a seat, very innovative and a buzy atmosphere Really enjoyed our afternoon here- we even played cards - full of unusual characters

There is nothing else like the old "ruins" bars in Budapest. As the other reviews state the setup and atmosphere of this bar is a must-see for tourists. Just be warned, the place is infested with roaches. We were sitting in an old bathtub on the upper floor (yes this is an ordinary location to sit at this bar), and we noticed that the table in front of us had a large crack running through it filled with hundreds of roaches crawling around inside. Just be careful where you sit or place your drink.

Szimpa kert is worth visiting. The Place is really relaxed and you can just sit and enjoy a drink and ahtmosphere. On the 2nd frool you get food and on the 1st floor different drinks from different bars.

We were unable to go at night but went in the afternoon to see the ruin bar. It was fascinating and had a good crowd even at that time. It is unique in the way it is decorated and the history of the ruin bars. Go in and have a drink even if it is the middle of the afternoon.

We sadly didn't have time after dinner to go here. But popped along the next day! Loved it. Cool hippy chic place full of history!! Had a refreshing orange juice! Will defiantly come back one evening. It's the place to be. And loads of stalls selling funky food next door!!
