We arrived in Budapest at 8:30 in the morning, extremely tired because we had not slept well on the overnight train. We arrived at the Carat Boutique Hotel expecting to drop off our luggage in storage and not be able to check in until the normal time of 2pm. However, Istvan at the front desk wonderfully got us a room. We were extremely grateful, as we did not ask for this special treatment. Every interaction with Istvan was very professional, courteous and helpful. Our room was very pretty, comfortable, clean and quiet. The room and bathroom are smaller than what Americans typically are used to, but it fit our needs of rest and relaxation. The hotel has a wonderful breakfast with so much variety and two very attentive waitstaff in the dining room. We also liked the location of the hotel- one block walk from the exit of the Metro station, one block away from Andrassy Ave. and only 3 blocks away from the historic Jewish Quarter. I was also impressed with how the hotel communicated via email with us before our stay and asked us if we had any special requirements. They will also book tours for you if needed. This is a WONDERFUL hotel and I would highly recommend it to others staying in Budapest.
