“Perfect location in Budapest”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

It takes you five minutes by foot to reach the "hub" metro station of Budapest - Deak Ferenc Ter. The hotel is located in a nice area with loads of cafés and restaurants.

Elegant hotel, cosy rooms and friendly staff, the only thing that was not really four star was the breakfast - it was OK, but not really amazing.

A very good clean and efficient hotel. Staff were very friendly and informative. The breakfast caters mainly for Continental tastes with different meats on offer, however there were boiled eggs and a variety of cereals as well as beautiful bread and spreads available. Once again staff were very friendly and helpful.
The hotel location is very good being approx. 5 minutes walk from the Danube and trams/underground etc. to other attractions. We actually walked everywhere including Heroes Square and the Royal Palace in Buda.
My only criticism about the hotel is the noise at night (early morning) as our room on the second floor overlooked a road where noisy revellers walked past, however this was only at the w/e.

I've stayed at the Carat hotel 4 times. (a week each time)The hotel is very central to most of the main sights. There is a metro station at the end of the street (4mins walk). There are two supermarkets close to the hotel. Also, there are some good bars and restaurants in walking distance. You can get a bit of noise at night from them.Especially at the weekends.l normally ask for an inside room.I wouldn't worry about a good view. There isn't one!

The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The cleanliness of the hotel was very good. The breakfast has a reasonable choice to eat and drink. There is a bar at the hotel. It is open from 2-10pm.It is quite nice if you wanted a quiet drink. The room was of a good size that l had.My only complaint is that the pillows and mattress on the bed very soft(cheap).I used 3 pillows in the end.It still felt like l had only one!

I would recommend this hotel if you like soft bedding.

Very good location of the hotel. Walking distance to major attractions in a city. Helpful personel with good English.

Renovated rooms: simple, but cozy. Free Wi-Fi (little bit slow at night, when everybody a back to hotel).

Breakfast is simple but has enough choice of food. Nice small local style cakes.

Room Tip: I would aska room facing back-yard to avoid noize from the street.

Stayed for a night as a backpacker. Not a large room but it's comfortable and bathroom was clean. Free Wifi and breakfast were included. It's a buffet with everything I want, from scrambled egg to cheese platter to croissant. The hotel is located at the heart of the city, short walks to the metro and riverside. The downside was there's no air-conditioning at certain period of the year, but a balcony with window helped the ventilation. I would stay in this hotel if I travel to Budapest again.

I stayed recently for two nights at the hotel.
It was a good experience and I cannot really complain about anything.

The room was clean and spacious. Wifi connection was good and fast.
The location is excellent for sightseeing as it is centrally located.
Banks and shops are close by, as are restaurents and bars.

The staff has been very friendly and supportive. In short, I can recommend it!
