“Good Location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2013

Spent four night short break in Budapest in May'13 using this hotel. The location next to the St Stephen Basilica is excellent for walking to many of the sites and the atmosphere at night in the square is very good with a choice of eating and drinking right on the doorstep.
The hotel was very good and clean with pleasant staff . Breakfast was the usual continental type with enough to satisfy and served from 0700-1000.
We had a small room but not cramped the air conditioning worked independently which
was good. I would recommend this hotel, only critic would be the lighting in the room was very dim maybe stronger bulbs would cure this.
Tip to Save: People over 65 can travel free on the public transport if they show identity but we never tried this as it is so busy we just paid to avoid the hassle.

The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Our room was not cleaned one day but the worst thing was the restaurant. On our first morning, all the tables were full of used crockery even though the restaurant was only half full, I asked politely if we could have a table cleaned but we eventually cleaned a table ourselves after waiting approximately 10 minutes. There was no toaster and no tea or coffee machine. The hot water, coffee and hot milk were all in flasks and were certainly only warm not hot.Throughout our 4 night stay there, the tables were still not cleared and they constantly ran out of cereal bowls and cups. One morning I asked for a cereal bowl and someone else asked for a cup, the waitress brought 4 cereal bowls and 2 cups.
Bearing in mind that this was not near the conclusion of the breakfast time, I think the service
was deplorable.I complained politely at reception but the receptionist made silly excuses and there was no apology which makes me think this is the norm.

Located right beside the beautiful Saint Stephen's Cathedral and only a few minutes walk to the Arany Jónas metro stop this hotel is in a prefect location. Considering the price the hotel was excellent. The rooms weere large and comfortable. Wifi was available but it cost I think 7 Euros for 3 nights which wont break the bank. Hotel staff was very friendly and full of information and are more than happy to help.

Room Tip: Try and get a room looking out onto the square

Excellent location. People were very helpful and nice. We could walk to some very nice restaurants. The hotel made reservations for us and gave us directions. We had a nice view of the Basilica and were close to the square.

A nice place to stay, centrally located, right next to the Basilica, two blocks from the center of transportation.. Highly recommended. Only issue: a strict enforcement of 2 PM check-in time. Very irritating, especially in cold weather.

Just steps away from the Basilica, this hotel is in a perfect position. Staying in February, it was extremely quiet, and the winter offer, including free admission to the spa baths, was very good value. Our room was large, very clean and comfortable.
The only oddity was that the heating (centrally controlled) was on all night every night - and I couldn't work out how to open the massive window without it becoming, in effect, an open door to our room. I suggest you ask a member of staff to show you if you're not used to the 'tilt and turn' type of window. Otherwise you might not be able to sleep for the heat.

We were a party of 10 and found the hotel to be very central and reception staff were very helpful. They recommended restaurants nearby which were excellent value and quality. Breakfast was a real put off and the offerings were not very appealing. However given what we paid it was not a big issue and became a convenient meeting place for our party before the day,s sightseeing. Best advice to give is that March was too early to enjoy the city!! Many things were closed.
