“Good location, great service, nice staff”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

I was pleasantly surprised by this Apartment-hotel.
Within walking distance to all amenities, the metro, the famous synagogue, groceries shopping and "high street". Location couldn't be better!!! The staff were very flexible and friendly and very helpful. The free Wi-Fi was an additional bonus.
The kitchen was well equipped, and there was laundry facilities within the apartment. If really felt like home away from home, with its coziness.

I've been in some cities, but wasn't gone to Budapest yet. Let me tell you I didn't regret. And the base for this was the Aboriginal Budapest Apartments, apatments, not an hotel!

Contact prior to arrival time was arranged bij the staff of Aborginal Budapest aparments (further ABA), next to the service to arrange a taxi to the apartments. The ABA ladies were friendly and offered any help when we needed them. It wasn't necessary, I prepared the trip to Budapest in the weeks before the plain took off. Promptly we were picked up by the taxi driver and in the office the ABA personal were already there. I could pay with Visa in the office, this was before entering the apartment, elevators were available, but my feet also work on a staircase.

Our aparment was basic, but more then sufficient. Everything was in the apartment: utilized kitchen with funny small espresso machine, oven, microwave, electric cooking (never done this before, but easy), bathroom with bath and washing machine, seperate toilet, a place to snore, a room with lazy couch to stretch and relax on with WIFI (try to understand the Hungarian/Magiar on the television? difficult!) after a city in 30 degree celsius (summer), eating corner with one different chair of totally four, kind of walking in wardrobe near the entrance, a balcony for our not too early breakfasts. All basic style, but hey, it was complete and it worked for us (my cousin and me)! And for the moderate price I wouldn't pass this next time.

The Andrassy ut, the well known shopping street was around the corner, and the Yellow Zebra bike rent in our neighbourhood. To bike in Budapest is advised for experienced bikers, certainly not starters. From the hotel we biked to everything in 9 days we wanted to see within a range circle of 2 km (1.2 miles): the castle, the citadel, fisher's bastion, matthias church, baths, iparmuveszti Muzeum, ludwig museum, the park in the Danube, great market hall, the huge synagoge, the hero square, etc.. The hotel has a nice central location, near the Opera and Opera Metro (who might need the metro, it's there). And Alexandra bookstore with our favourite coffee/patisserie upstairs is also good to walk to from the ABA.

Only minor is that young Dutch, Belgian and English tourist walk through the street at night with a lot of noise. Lucky I live in a town myself, it didn't bother me too much. But be aware you're in the middle of life in Pest!

The neighbourhood is lively for young people, near the Jewish district, with nice pubs and a great variety of good restaurants. Spar supermarket is in the neighbourhood to get your fridge stuffed fast.

I certainly would book this nice apartment complex again, only probably not in the summer, but in the spring of fall, due to the temperature outdoors.

We're thankfull to ABA for our nice stay in their apartments. I will add some photographs later this week.

Room Tip: A balcony is nice to breakfast when you're with 2 persons!

Impossible to knock this place. Superb value (we paid £130 in total for four nights via one of the links in Trip Advisor). We were upgraded to a two-bedroom, two bathroom apartment (not really needed for the two of us) but no balcony; who cares - it was late November. Apartment well equipped (all conceivable kit supplied from cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher to washing machine), sufficient for a long-term stay, with little conveniences like washing powder and dishwasher tablets provided . Rooms spacious, clean and in good state of repair. Good location - 5 minutes walk from the main Metro interchange - and on the edge of the Jewish quarter where there are lots of bars and restaurants. Only minor complaint - sofa in the main room was a bit uncomfortable - could have done with a comfy chair or two. Staff very helpful.

Two couples, retired professional educators stayed 4 nights at the Aboriginal Budapest Apartments in June 2012. Very neat apartment that housed 4 of us. All appliances worked well, adequate dishes, good washing facilities and quiet. We loved the open windows on a top floor. Personnel, especially Erika, at their office next to the apartments were very helpful in providing information about the city and responding to our many e-mails before we got there and while we were there. Thanks Erika. Great location. Close to a main street and many quaint restaurants, grocery stores and quiet places for a leisurely evening drink. Good place to stay.

Room Tip: We stayed on 7th floor. Modern elevator.

Everybody mentioned its good location and its comfort price. The apartment is equipped with most item you'll need, we were two, and the space was very comfort; you can easily managed with additional two children.
Did I mention Wi Fi? With Hotels (even 4*) you have always the risk of getting a room double the size of the bed, for double the price of that apartment and add 22 Euro per day for the Wi-Fi.
Do not hesitate to take such apartment.

We went to Budapest for my Stag Doo this year so the location was very important. The apartments are set in a great location, locally you have an amazing all you can eat/drink resteraunt costing about £15! There is also a great bar right at the end of the street. The bulding is very secure with 24 hour security. The size of the apartments is perfect for a group or even family. The staff that manage the apartments very freindly and helpfull. Would defo go back!
