“Dirty Bed with Human Hair, No room cleaning”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

I created a TripAdvisor account just to leave a review here because I feel obliged to share our experience. We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in Oct 2013 as part of our month long travel in Europe, and it was by far the WORST hotel experience we’ve had...

When we got to the hotel, we immediately noticed our beds did NOT have any bedsheet. Instead, it only had a bedcover with part of the mattress exposed and balls of human hair on it. We called the receptionist, and was told the bedsheet was already in the room. We were confused so we asked for room cleaning to come take a look. When we showed the room cleaning guy the dirty bedcover, she told us that was the bedsheet and the hair "came from outside the window." Mind you, our room was on the FIFTH floor on a street with no tree and the window was fully CLOSED, how do human hair fly in?? We asked the bedsheet to be changed, the guy came back after 10 min and shoveled another two crumbled BEDCOVERS to us at the door, he DID NOT even bother changing it!! we had to do it ourselves.

Even worse, it was stated in their brochure there is house cleaning everyday, but house cleaning DID NOT COME after our 1st night - the trash not taken out, the bed not folded. On our 2nd night, we asked the receptionist, "is there supposed to be house cleaning" and was told "yes everyday." They came after the 2nd night and ONLY took out the trash and folded the bed, but did NOT clean the floor. After the 3rd night, they AGAIN did not do room cleaning!! It is absolutely disgusting... In addition, the pillows were so flat I had to use my jacket as pillow.

There are many other cheap and nice options in Budapest. Please save yourself the suffering and book elsewhere. If you think about booking this place, consider yourself warned.

At ?30 per night (for the appartement not per person) this place is a gem.
Situated just of Mester Utca, 4 min walk from Danube, 2 mins walk to tram 4 & 6, this place is convenient, clean, comfortable and excellent value. It is on the 7th and 8th floor of a residential building so quiet too. All the residents I met were very friendly. The area seems very safe and relaxed.
It is well run by 2 ladies who are very helpful, my price even included breakfast.
It has a nice power shower, and a kitchen with a coffee machine.
If you are on honeymoon or are used to staying in 5 star hotels with marble floors and gold leaf trimmings, then don't come here.
But if you want a good simple basic accomodation in a great location at a budget price, then I would highly recommend this to everybody.
It is because of the overall value for money that I rate this 5 stars :-)

We stayed here for three nights in September, 2013. I think our little group of three friends having a mini vacation in Budapest liked everything about this place. Location, cleanliness, working air con (it hit 30 degrees during the day), hot water, peace, easygoing spirit, roof terrace above Budapestian roofs under stars for a late night cigarettes

We especially loved lady of the staff for giving us a home away from home! Thank You!

Hi all, we stayed in this hotel for five nights in August, 2013.

First impressions were good- the room and bathroom were large and very clean. The bed linen was clean- but we did not get the double bed as advertised- instead we got two single beds pushed together. The towels could have been cleaner and they were not changed every three days as advertised.

We were given a fridge also which proved useful to keep drinks cool. We also had a nice balcony.

They did not have air-conditioning in our room as advertised- and because we were visiting in August, it was hot outside. It was difficult to sleep in the heat. We were not too happy with this. They provided a fan- and this helped a bit.

The location is very good- it is central and public transport is right outside the door. The area is safe enough- although I did not always feel safe coming home in the evening. The staff were friendly and helpful to us. They were reliable too, were professional and had good to very good English.

Overall, it was very good value for money and I think it would be a good option for those on a budget.

Room Tip: Ask about air conditioning availability.

We stayed here for 2 nights in February. The guest house is within walking distance from the Gellért bath and the big indoor market (Vásárcsarnok). The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, double bed really big but a little bit old and rough. I can definitely recommend this guest house. Would like to stay here again on our next trip to Hungary.

Jól éreztük magunkat, a személyzet nagyon kedves és segítőkész volt. Ha újra Pestre látogatunk biztos itt szállunk meg ismét.

We stayed here for 4 nights, in hot June. The rooms do get very hot however they have air-con so you can be nice and cool at night. It 15 minute walk away from the city center, but 2 minutes walk away from the tram which only takes about 5 minutes. It is a bit difficult to find as we arrived at 10pm and the reception was closed, and it is on the 8th floor. The rooms are very homely and comfortable however we were only given two single beds instead of a double for our anniversary.

I would recommend this hotel!

I stayed here with a friend in spring 2012 after reading other Trip Advisor reviews. It was a great place to stay for a few nights, with a nice sized bathtub. The manager was very sweet and helpful. We were able to travel by foot throughout the city from the hotel each day.
