This hotel has great location in the Buda castle, downtown can be reached in like 20 – 25 minutes by foot.
Stayed 1 night only but I can definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. Little noisy at night – I guess it’s because of huge corridors and open spaces – but nothing bad to damage your sleep.

In Budapest, most visitors stay on the Pest side, either because it is the heart of the modern city, with most restaurants and conveniences or because they want to look across the river up at the stunning views of the brightly lit castle at night. Aside from the Hilton, which is in the castle district, all the large hotels are in Pest. We chose to stay in the castle district in Buda at the St. George for the surroundings. The hotel handled our reservation well and was very responsive to email questions and requests before we arrived. The hotel itself is a little odd. With a little more effort, it could be perfect, but it is not. First, the good. The hotel is all suites. Ours was huge. The living room was comfortable and had kitchen furnishings if we had wanted to cook. The bedroom was smaller, but the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was modern and well appointed. The tub was large and comfortable. At one end it had a little cushion on which to rest your head, a lovely touch. The room was clean, and was cleaned nicely each day. The location too was ideal. The castle district crawls with tourists during the day, but at night it is very quiet and really lovely and romantic. The views down towards Pest may not be as beautiful as the view up to the castle, but they are lovely as well. And the larelgy empty night-time streets are wonderful to walk through, surrounded by all the old buildings (rebuilt after the war). What keeps this hotel from a 5-star rating is the lack of service. WHen we arrived, there was no one to greet as and take the luggage. We also carried our bags up to our room (no elevators in the hotel, so be prepared to schlepp). There is no room service. The lack of service (which is reflected in the price of the hotel) seems odd in contrast to the nice physical property. The hotel has a restaurant, which we did not try.

If we return to Budapest for leisure, we would consider staying her again primarily because of location.

Only had a small lunch here, so can't comment on rooms etc., but the restaurant is very classy indeed. The "five mushrooom" soup was out of this world, the goulash soup excellent. The decor is wonderful and the service quiet and good. With three separate gorgeous spaces, this would also be a fantastic choice for a group booking.

A charming suite in the heart of Buda, close to public transportation and Hop On-Off Bus system. The morning breakfast was lovely and varied. The gardens were still in full bloom. The staff was extremely helpful.

Room Tip: We stayed on ground floor - convenient.

Well, what an i say about this hotel..... The location which is in the middle of the castle area is amazing, you may walk around on the evenings and the views around are just spectacular. The hotel itself is magnificent, the rooms are very very nice, all the floors well decorated, you really fell like living in a castle, breakfast is very good. Staff always friendly and ready to help at any time, the city is very easy to move around and a fast and frequent public bus can bring you up and down into the castle area. It is simply the best hotel i ever stayed, definitely recommend, fantastic!!

Kudos for Karen Brown's travel guides. This lovely hotel has it all--location in a beautiful, historic area overlooking the Danube and Pest, spacious, exquisitely decorated suites at a reasonable price, and an attentive, knowledgeable staff. What's more, there was free, reliable Wifi. Just down the street are tour buses, including hop-on, hop-off buses, which we utilized to see not only the Buda area but much of Pest as well. Lots of little shops and many restaurants added appeal to the St. George. Can't imagine a better choice for visitors to this enchanting city.

The residence is situated in one of the most beautiful area's of the city, of which it forms an integrated part through its beautifully restaured & decorated spacious rooms & suites, situated around an inner courtyard like an oasis of rest in the middle of this intensively frequented part of the city. Although the house is reported to be 700 years old, it provides all the modern confort. The personnel is kind and hospitabel and the price very reasonable.
