We booked the Kapital Inn based on the reviews, and it was definitely what we expected after reading a few of the glowing reviews here.

Albert makes you feel welcome and at home right away. He was a great help with everything during our stay. He ordered taxis, recommended places to go tailored to our tight schedule and was generally a fantastic host. The location is great because a lot of things are in walking distance.

I'll definitely stay here again if I'm back in Budapest.

Booked into the Kapital Inn after leaving a 14 day river cruise in Budapest. Appalling weather, cold, drizzle and almost snowing and yet our 2 day stay with the delightful Albert warmed us immensely. With 2 very heavy suitcases, plus in-flights, in tow, our hearts sank at the sight of the 3 flights of stairs and no elevator to be seen to our loft-style room. But our mountain goat host not only carried the 2 cases with embarrassing gusto, he actually waited at the top of each flight for us to catch up! Don't you hate that?

The room was almost Parisian in its rooftop outlook and seemed like a scene from Fiddler of the Roof, or Mary Poppins. Lovely big bathroom and rainforest shower head and our decidedly cold morale soared. Albert's guest kitchen was crammed with all sorts of delights, including Budapest's renowned pastries and breakfasts at the Kapital are a treat, especially chef Albert's trademark omelettes. While the weather certainly ruled our use of it, there is a lovely alfresco courtyard just outside the kitchen which must be a delight on a summer.

Albert sat with us for quite some time making suggestions and recommendations; he really is a 'people' kind of a guy. An example! He got up at 3:45am on a bleak, sleety Budapest morning to nonchalantly jog downstairs with our cases to make sure we made or crack-of-dawn flight. Albert and the home-away-from-home Kapital Inn, are a pleasure not to be missed in beautiful Budapest.

First, Albert advised us about using authorized taxis to avoid overcharges and we followed his recommendation and used FoTaxi from the airport. No surprises. Upon arrival, Albert was waiting for us and whisked our luggage upstairs. He accepted the late arriving luggage from the airline when it finally arrived. The room was very comfortable and nicely appointed/furnished, nice size bathroom with large shower. He has WiFi thoughout for your iPad, phone, etc., a laptop in your room, and a desktop/printer available too. Nice flatscreen satellite TV’s in the rooms. The rooms are air conditioned but at the time of year we visited, it wasn’t necessary. Yes there are stairs, but they weren’t an issue for us. He has every guidebook you can imagine. He does a great breakfast and is available most of the time to answer any questions you might have about tours, restaurants, the city, everything you might want to know about Budapest. The restaurants he suggested for us were excellent and quite reasonably priced. All in all, a very gracious host and a very comfortable place to stay. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: Deluxe room has ensuite bathroom/shower. Standard room has shared bath/shower.

Perfect place to stay, perfect position with Albert the perfect host advising us from the best places to visit, booking our bus and to how to access the baths, nothing was too much trouble for him. Could not fault it. We'll be back.

We have already told our friends and relatives that Budapest is a beautiful city and that our stay at the Kapital Inn was in large part the reason we had such a memorable experience. Since we we new to the city we had arranged for a guide the first day who cancelled at the last minute. Good thing, since Albert spends as long as needed with each guest to outline walking tours, tell you current and past history, and instruct you on the easiest ways to get around. He helped prioritize our time so we made the most of our stay. His restaurant recommendations were excellent. The rooms are stylish and functional- the food delicious. His personal service is over the top. And all done as if you were long time friends coming to stay in his home. Thanks again Albert for such s great time.

Room Tip: We went with another couple and and stayed in the 2 rooms which shared a bath. When you say a bath i...

My husband and I stayed at Kapital Inn in August of '12. We read the reviews and were excited for our stay. Having been to Prague and Vienna we had already stayed in two very nice bed and breakfasts and were expecting a similar experience. What we got was a great all around experience, different and better than the other b&bs. The room, food and accommodations were great. Most of all Albert was the best. Having Albert help us navigate Budapest was fabulous. He took a lot of time to understand what we were looking for and made recommendations based on that. He helped us experience Budapest in a way that we wouldn't have been able to on our own. I feel like we left a new friend in Budapest. We enthusiastically recommend Kapital Inn.
