“Great location”
Reviewed August 25, 2012

Excellent location and value. Its close to main attractions and has few good restaurants in the are. Its not a newer hotel so don't expect pristine cleanliness. Breakfast is really good. Very convenient for families with younger kids.

Room Tip: ask for suites with the balcony

The rooms was very big. Infact there was two in the suite we lived in. And it was very affordable too. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location couldn't be better. Breakfast wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. Familys can easyli stay there too.
All together, we would for sure stay there again next time we come to Budapest.

We wanted to stay close to main sites and good bars. We found a street just 200 meters away from the hotel with many bars and pubs. I was positivelly surprised how that part of Budapest has changed since the last time I was there. The Hotel is excellent value for money in my opinion. Huge and clean rooms, very good air condition system (outside was very very hot), rich breakfast, fast free wifi... We had a great food in the restaurant on the Hotel terasse.
As the only negative experience I can remember was no vacancy on rooms with balcony, although our room was close to the common balcony where I could smoke :)
I can highly recommend this hotel for anyone. Rooms are big enough for any kind of guests or family...

Room Tip: Ask for room with balcony facing the main square

I had a big suite as you can see on the photos. I think it was number 701. The location cannot be better next to the main places. From there you can go almost everywhere walking. If you are rushing then you have the main metro lines just next to the hotel door. There is also a 24 hour supermarket next to it.
Regarding the room there was a first room with a small kitchen (but don't expect to cook there, only a microwave), another one like a veranda with armchairs, a huge terrace and the bedroom. All was very clean when I got in. The bed quality could be improved but I slept very well as there was no noise at all. You'll have also free wifi.
The big weak point is the breakfast quality and service. All products are low quality ones (especially the orange juice which is water with orange flavour) and if you arrive late then some products are not available anymore. I went down at 10.30 and there was already no scrambled eggs and service or kitchen was not fast enough.
I would recommend it for the rooms and the location but skip the breakfast!
Last remark there was no restaurant but you won't mind as there are plently just around the corner and the reception can help you out.

We stayed one night prior to a river cruise and thought it was a great value. The suite was very large and very clean. There were several restaurants in the courtyard in front of hotel and others located close by. Breakfast was also very pleasant.

We were visiting relatives in Budapest, and knowing how small their living quarters were, we decided to book a hotel for our stay. Three small family groups were traveling together, so we booked three rooms. Although we arrived early (11:30 AM), the reception staff were extremely kind and checked us into three adjacent rooms immediately.

The rooms are clean and large, very large by European standards - and included a kitchen area with a small refrigerator, a sink and microwave. This was very useful for warming up the leftovers shared by my Hungarian family. The hotel is within a block of the central square of Budapest - Deak Ter - where the underground and many tour buses can be found. It is also a block or so away from Vaci ut, the lovely pedestrian shopping center of Budapest. Cafes and restaurants of all types are in the area, and it is an easy to walk to many of the tourist areas of the Pest side. In spite of its central location, the rooms are very quiet, and it was easy to get a good night's sleep.

This hotel includes WiFi and breakfast at no extra charge. The latter offers a combination of European and Hungarian options - Hungarian salami (delicious!), cheese, bread, fresh tomatoes and peppers, croissants and yogurt. There are good options for coffee and tea - from espresso to American to cafe au lait. The breakfast room is kept very clean, and the hours cater to early and late risers.

There is a small cafe next door where we enjoyed a glass of Hungarian wine (bor) while watching the semi-finals of the European Cup. Hungarian wines are wonderful and a good value (2 glasses of wine and a beer all cost under $6.00), so your money goes a long way. I should mention that the staff were happy to offer dining suggestions, but these were unnecessary for us as our relatives demonstrated their superior cooking skills each night of our stay.

I have been to Hungary a number of times, and I am delighted to see how well the country is restoring its national treasures after years of hardship. The architecture of Budapest is among the most beautiful in Europe, the food is fantastic, the people are very kind - and the young people have excellent English skills. Hungarians appreciate any attempt to speak their language - which they understand is challenging and unique.

Having said all this, I booked the hotel on a European website called Agoda for an incredible price. Given the suite, the location, the delicious breakfast, the service and the extras, this hotel comes in as an excellent value for the money. I would highly recommend it, and I will stay there again.

Room Tip: Be sure to stop at one of the city's cukraszdas - the beautiful confectionery shops - for a piec...
