I recently rented Aventura's "Retro Apartment" in Budapest for two nights. It was an excellent choice - a spacious apartment that sleeps four, decorated with retro furniture and art.

It is near the Opera House and several metro stations. It was a great location for exploring the major street Andrassy Ut, the hip nightlife of the Jewish Quarter and much more.

It is in a very quiet building - we felt secure and slept well at night. There are two friendly bars near the building, and Yellow Zebra Bike Tours are just around the corner. We went on a good bike tour with them, then hired bikes for a day to explore the city by ourselves.

We had to check in at the main Aventura hostel to collect the keys. The receptionist was kind, and helped us during our stay - she booked a cab for us, and also explained how to get to the airport - which we appreciated.

The apartment would be ideal for 2-4 friends travelling together, or for a couple who want a "home away from home". Highly recommend.

I was sure about going to Budapest just few hours before my bus starts. So first of all hostel staff replied my 2 e-mails within 2 h, which any other hostel in Budapest didn't. Furthermore hostel is located very close to metro. Finally as I came about 6:00 am hostel receptionist gave me all pieces of advice that I needed so early in the morning. One extra thing they do crumple plastic bottles with some warmer so seems to be pro ecological as well.

Stayed here for three nights and loved it! Great staff, love the cheap breakfast where it feels like you're home at the dinner table with your family. Themed rooms are very cool - the Africa one is the best!

I stayed in the India room. Admittedly the beds are hard, so if you are for comfort and soft springy mattresses do not come here. However everything else about this accomodation cannot be topped. The staff were really frindly, helpful, interested and interesting, breakfast was simple and ample and no kicking out times, curfews or anything. The person who owns the hostel has an interest in travelling, which shows in the sames of the rooms, all are named after country's and very simply fashioned on what you would find in that country with a few photos. In Budapest, this accomodation is not to far to walk to anything, and the transport is easy to use. Thank you to everyone who made my trip to Budapest such fun.
