This hostel is ok but lacked any atmosphere compared to other hostels I’ve stayed in. It was very small and no real common area to hang out. The staff were helpful and it’s not too far from public transport although it was initially hard to find the hostel itself.

I stayed here for two nights over the bank holiday weekend in August. I stayed in the India room, which is the least fantastical of all of the themes rooms but it was a a comfortable, spacious and quiet room - which is all anyone really wants!

The staff are very helpful and cheerful, they were always happy to help.

The hostel itself is located right next to the central station and as such provides great links into the city. It only took me twenty minutes to walk to the Danube for the firework celebrations.

The one downside is that there are only two bathrooms which are shared between every guest in the hostel. This is unavoidable because of the compact size of the hostel and the layout of the apartment but it was a bit of a letdown for me.

Budapest is a different world even fro an experienced traveller, and the language barrier can make it a little intimidating when you first arrive from a Western country. The friendly young English-speaking staff at Aventura Boutique Hostel greatly smooth the transition and make you feel comfortable. They even helped me feel better after being ripped off by a taxi driver within the first few moments of my arrival.
Ever ready to help with tips and friendly advice, they also do a superb job of keeping the place spotlessly clean ( with the cooperation of the guests) and even do the laundry for you for a small price.
Located within a short distance (400 metres) of Nuygati train station, it is close to public transport and a good base from which to explore the spectacularly beautiful city. Restaurants, banks and grocery stores are nearby as well.

Hauling heavy luggage up the stairs can be a problem but again, the staff willingly helped out.
The hostel welcomes travellers of all ages, but I would not recommend the "loft" room for older travellers who don't like climbing up and down a ladder. A well equipped kitchen where guests can prepare coffee and meals for themselves is another bonus for the budget traveller. Shared rooms and bathrooms did not prove to be a problem either as all guests who were there during my stay were pleasant and cooperative.
Check in and check out times are flexibie, since the reception desk is staffed 12 hours a day. This proved to be very convenient as well.

I would recommend this place highly for first time travellers to Budapest and to any traveller of modest means looking for a clean, safe accommodation and a friendly environment.

Room Tip: Rooms on the lower floor are recommended for those who don't like climbing up a ladder.

We arrived at Budapest Airport ( Ferenc Liszt) and purchased a transfer ticket for 530HUF ( the cheapest option to the city by public transport and cheaper than buying tickets separately.)
We took the 200 bus from outside the airport at Terminal 2 to the last stop (Kobanya Kispest Metro) and changed to the No 3 line and got off the metro at the Nyugati stop. It was an easy transfer. We took the escalator to the “ Trains/Vaci Ut” sign and came out on Katona Jozsef Street ( the steps are on the left) We walked straight down this street until we reached the cross street of Visegradi. Turned left on Visegradi and on the right-hand side close to the corner you’ll see a coffee shop. The entrance to Adventura is right next door.
We settled our account for the Rouge Apartment on arrival, received the keys and walked to our accommodation (one block way) with a charming member of staff who couldn’t have been more helpful on arrival.
The apartment has a lift which made arrival /departure easy with luggage and also wi-fi.
It is well laid out with a huge lounge room/bedroom and is very roomy for two people. There is a double bed and also a sofa bed, which we used throughout our stay being two gals. The room was full of light with two huge windows opening onto a courtyard beneath.
The bathroom and kitchen were great. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the essentials and utensils, and we loved having a fridge and stove top for breakfast.
The street below has supermarkets on every corner and there were lots and lots of great restaurants which we used every night. All public transport was close with Nyugati metro a block away and busses at the doorstep. At the end of Katona Jozsef Street is the Danube River.
Be sure to walk across the first bridge (Margaret bridge) and spend a day on Margaret Island. It is the most beautiful park in Budapest. We hired a golf buggy (a Mr Bean car!!!!!!) for an hour (really cheap) and drove around the island in glorious sunshine. No.26 bus also runs through the full length of the island. The island is 2.5 km long and 500 metres wide. There’s lots to see there from the historic water tower, the Franciscan ruins, the musical fountains, the Palatinus thermal baths to the zoo. There are bikes there for rent also.
There is a boat that goes to Margaret Island from pier 8a on the Pest side if the walk seems daunting. Take a picnic if the weather is good.
Make sure to eat lots of goulash during your stay in Budapest and try their Tokaji wine.
A must see is Szechenyl thermal baths the largest medicinal baths in Europe, where the water is supplied by two thermal mineral springs and the temperature tops 38 degrees celcius. The metro station of Szechenyl is very close in City Park. The daily entry ticket is NOT cheap so leave plenty of time there.
Budapest has too much to offer the tourist as a great destination in Europe. The Rouge apartment is a perfect base, well located, the staff are excellent, its clean and comfortable and its very homely. There is nothing that’s not to like about this address. We just dropped our keys in the letter box on departure. A top spot.
We couldn’t fault a thing, it suited us perfectly throughout our stay.

I had a great stay in Aventura boutique hotel. They’re staffs were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our journey. The location of he hotel is very central, which makes it easy to travel around.
Also, this is the cleanest hostel I’ve ever been to. Would recommend it to those who are on budget but are OCD ( Like me ) x
