We came across this room by accident. We were sitting in the Hummus cafe enquiring after a room and the owner was in there. We don't spend any time in a room so it was ideal for us and a good price. It is in the Astoria area and the centre is walkable in about 15 - 20 mins also right next to the metro, buses and Hop on Hop off bus stop just around the corner. We were given keys to the room and main doors and had no problems gaining access. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was nice, shower excellent, air con available and I had no problem with wifi. i would definitely stay there again

Pros: Big room. Walk to Vaci Street in about 15 minutes. Nice kitchenette with utensils, microwave, kettle, hot plate. Next to Parliament building. They can organize taxi to pick you up from airport. Close to metro station - 3 minute walk away.

Cons: Weak wifi. Staff aren't around much. Aren't many stores/restaurants in the area. Thin walls.

Two days before the trip, I got an email saying we would be staying at a different venue, Falk Miksa Utca 3. No pictures available. Decided to get there earlier and check the place out. It did not look bad, and location is really great. Decided to stay.
A few things could not be seen at first glance: smelly bed sheets and bath towels, water leaks all over the bathroom, a roach waiting for us at night. That all would be overlooked. The turning point was being locked out (had to wait for an hour to get in after we send an sms to the contact person) at night.

Location: wonderful, on Wesselenyi St., 2min to amazing bohemian Szimpla bar, across the street from the Dohany Synagogue and 2 min from Karoly St, that goes to St. Stephen basilika and the central node of metro from Deak Ter (Square); also close to a CBA supermarket on Karoly. It's also 5 min to Astoria metro, three stations away from Keleti train station. We saw ALL tourist attractions by foot and we're not fit. Don't miss Alexandra Cafe, it's a wonderful palace on Andrassy blvd, across the street from the Opera!

Price: very inexpensive!

Staff: Csilla was wonderfully nice and speaks fabulous English. Right after booking they will send you a lot of e-mails and confirm all details.

Flats: look good, just like in pics, have all cutlery and plates aso.

Building: both the flats from Wesselenyi and the other one are in buildings that look a bit old and the hallways look a bit ... well, run down... :) but the flats are ok and look brand new and the elevators work.

Just curious: what is the Chinese symbol on the paper on the walls on Wesselenyi :)?

A little warning: look for the sign for housekeeping. If you don't place it, they will not even take out the garbage..

This pension is conveniently located in Pest, within walking distance of many attractions and the underground. However, the girls working there speak no English (or German) whatsoever, so communication was a real pain. They couldn't find our reservation at first, but we finally got our room. The walls are paper thin, and the couple next door had a baby! Apparently, the young people working there also live there, in a tiny room across the hall. We found this odd, and at one point they were making too much noise! I wouldn't recommend this pension, unless you speak Hungarian!
