Spent 4 nights with friends April 2014. We had a great time and the hotel made a perfect starting and ending point to our adventureous days in Budapest. Spacious, clean, central, good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, nice fitness and spa/swimming area. Value for money - for sure. Recommended!

Great location in a quiet street: Tramstops in walking distance, a few minutes to busy streets with lots of restaurants, shops and sites. Definitely a hidden champion.

All receptionists were very friendly, competent, and multilingual.

Good breakfast buffet: Greatselection, on demand without surcharge, fried eggs & French toast;fair price.Pleasant atmosphere & friendly service.

Free Wi-Fi access to own devices.

Indoor pool, spa with sauna & gym.
PC with free internet access & printer in the lobby.

We had booked a “Standard suite”. This label is highly misleading: We got a tiny bedroom with two armchairs and a small table in-between them. There was hardly enough space to place 2 cabin cases.

There was a small sideboard with a TV& keyboard;TV programme selection was poor.

In the small corridor was a sink, a cupboard & a fridge with mini bar.
The cupboard held some cups, dishes and some glasses; there was some cutlery ina drawer. The “kitchenette” was also had a coffee maker.
We missed a kettle & a teapot.

The bathroom was nostalgic: “Golden” faucet & cross handles for both sink& 70s bathtub with tub mount shower.

The double bed had a super soft mattress (worn out?) which made you roll to its lowest point the centre. If one person turned, the other one was kicked awake by the heavily reacting mattress as a side effect. Highly unpleasant & unsuitable for a hotel in this category.

Our predecessor probably used the small balcony for smoking leaving a saucer with cigarette stubs on it.

Room Tip: Check room size & standard before booking.

My wife and I stayed here with a friend. Some of the facilities were a little tired but on the whole it is a good hotel. The pool and sauna areas were clean good for relaxation. The room was very spacious but again a little tired and not what I would class as 5 star. Staff were always helpful and friendly, couldn't have been better and really made the difference.

We had a deluxe suite and the accommodation surpassed our expectations. Very spacious comfy bed & sofa bed for the children, we had to ask for an extra duvet which was no trouble for the hotel to provide.
Breakfast experience was a bit disappointing though. Had to ask twice for coffee, would have thought once was sufficient, and the hot food, bacon in particular wasn't replenished despite the staff saying it would take 10 minutes, after 20 minutes we give up waiting. Plenty of other breakfast food on offer. Ordered fried eggs one day which took almost 20 minutes to arrive, over cooked! The food didn't seem to be readily replenished much beyond 10.15, so get there early to ensure there is something that you might fancy to eat.
The hotel is located within easy walking distance of several nice bars & resturaunts & considering it's in the middle of a city you can hardly hear the hustle of city life.

We booked this because it had self-catering facilities in the room but it is essentially like a hotel in all other respects, (daily maid service). There was very little in the kitchen but we were provided with a couple of pans and a kettle a couple of hours after asking for them. A lovely quiet room although not too spacious was perfectly adequate and also had a washing machine in the bathroom which was useful as we were there for 8 days. Although not right in the centre of things the location was good as only a short walk to metro stop, and plenty of shops nearby too. The spa and pool was an added bonus. The restaurant at the hotel was absolutely superb, gourmet food at very reasonable prices and service was wonderful. It is true you can eat very very cheaply in Budapest but the service is often terrible and the food basic. I would highly recommend the Chess restaurant here and the hotel. Staff very helpful all the time. Would definitely stay again

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room and had a courtyard room away from traffic noise

I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. We had a superior executive, great room, clean, huge, great coffee in the kitchen for the morning. The bedroom's bed was so big and comfortable! Would stay for sure in this hotel.
