I've been here only for one night, and got a Superior Suite, and I was really astonished. The service is wonderfull too, and the staff is trully kind. The payment is possible either in Forints or Euros so that's a plus too. I recomend to every one who goes to Budapest.

Just off Dob Utca and Ezesebet Krt the hotel is well situated for bars, restaurants and public transport. Rated a 5* maybe a bit generous but it has a nice feel to it a you enter the courtyard off the main street. The reception desk is basic but the lobby is classical black/white marble tiles and chandeliers. The room we had on the 4th floor was very big with a separate lounge/dining area from the bedroom. It had a pull out couch/bed for another 2 people but it didn't look that comfortable but could do for kids. TV with sky news and BBC news but everything else foreign stations. Free wifi and coffee making. We had the breakfast which is convenient but not exciting. Cereals, fruit, cold meats, cheese, hot buffet with frankfurter style sausage, smoky bacon and beans. Eggs too order. No change in the buffet for any day which would have added a bit of variety. It was help yourself so you can fill up. Nice and pleasant staff in all the hotel. The bed was comfortable and the room was very hot. Even with the heating switched off we had to open the window at night, this was in -0c temperature. Didn't eat in the restaurant but it had a varied menu and wasn't overpriced. Just a couple of minutes from the trams and buses. Bars and restaurants no more than 5 minutes away in Dob Utca and Kiraly Krt.

Couple of other points which may be of use to first time visitors to Budapest. You can get a 24 hour pass for buses, trams, metros for about £4.50. A single journey is 90p. Buy your tickets at Metro stations. No ticket before your use the trams etc is a heavy fine. A 3 day/72 hour day pass is £11 50. Or 7 days £13. If you are over 65 you get free travel but you need proof of age. Most of the museums, attractions that charge have reduced rates if you are over 62, half price, so take your passport with you. Best shop for wine, beer and spirits are Spar and Lidl. Lidl takes a credit card and the rate is very good. Don't bother taking a lot of HUFs with you. Take £s and exchange as you go. Most restaurants take credit cards. The rate of exchange for the official money changers will get you 40-50 Huf to the £ more. Don't use the airport changers they give you a very poor rate. We used Airportshuttle which was £25 for 2 return to/from the Hotel. Book online to get a 10% discount. The duty free in Budapest is anything but. Prices were about 100% more than outside. Even the food and drink was very expensive in the airport so take your own.

Very nice hotel-loved every moment spent there! The room was very nice and comfortable, you have all in one-sitting room, bedroom and even kitchen,so you can cook if you want to.Comfortable mattress and pillow,so you get good sleep.I had small issue with a tobacco smoke in a night coming from the outside but staff resolved it very fast banned smoking near the front doors. Small gym on a top of a spa area, where I could do my everyday exercise.Food in a restaurant was very nice!Hotel staff very polite and helpful whatever you ask.
Good location-you can get everywhere walking.New York cafe is just in 10 min walk and it is definitely what you must to see!If I decide to go to Budapest will stay there again!
Highly recommend!

Good choice of hotel as you get an apartment-style room in a great location. Our room had a sitting area, kitchen area & sleeping area plus balcony. All very comfortable & well furnished & we were able to borrow a DVD player from reception

The pool area is nice as it has quite a classy atmosphere with a huge chandelier. Pool is small & there are only a couple of loungers, but still very enjoyable.

The location is great, about a 5 minute walk from Oktagon metro station & with lots of trams & buses nearby. There are lots of restaurants (both a la carte & fast food) on the main road within a few of minutes walk of the hotel.

Stayed 2 nights after a river cruise so 5 star to finish holiday in style. Big disappointment. 1st impressions were ok-nice lobby, friendly staff & bright. Then to the room. This is not luxury 5 star but a very ordinary 1 bedroom apartment & very plain, almost depressing. Bed was very soft, bedlinen threadbare, pillows very lumpy. Bathroom had a cheap washing machine in & shower in need of modernising, towels were threadbare. No kettle in kitchenette or tea making facilities, just coffee.Breakfast was ok, staff helpful but restaurant was tiny-maybe 30 people max at any one time. Pool was exceedingly small.
Loved Budapest but will not stay here again. Would rate as 3 star nicer although 3 stars we have stayed in have been nicer. Should advertise as being an apartment not a hotel.

Location is in a dreary area but then much of Budapest seems to be like this, but one can walk easily to the main city. Unfortunately we had an unhappy introduction to Budapest as we accepted a taxi driver who approached us on the train station and he fleeced us - cost to our hotel was Euro 47, which should have been less than 10. Lesson! Do not accept drivers on the platform and, as we usually do, look up beforehand the approximate price to your hotel !
We had a small suite which was adequate but the bath and hand-held shower definitely need upgrading as they are impossible to use and wash oneself. The pool and spa seemed full with a family and a couple already there which says something about it's size, so I couldn't relax there. Breakfast was just adequate and moderate quality, which I wasn't surprised at in a country like Budapest in winter, as fresh food would be expensive.

Room Tip: Internal rooms and suites facing into the courtyard looked better than one fronting the street, whic...
