“Not 5 Star!”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

Although pleasant enought this is not in any way a 5 star hotel.

Pros:
Clean room - I had a Superior Suite
Friendly Staff

Cons:
Pool is not in any way what website suggests - I didnt bother going for a swim after being in the sauna as the pool was not appealing at all.
Sauna is tiny - enough room for 2 to 3 people at a push.
No phone in room = no room service
No concierge at all
Bathrooms shabby and terrible shower.

I travel a lot and spend several nights a week in hotels. From my experience this is in no way a five star hotel. At best a basic four star. Its fine for a business trip, I wouldnt bring my wife for a romantic weekend.

We had a last minute booking to this place last weekend. It has a good location to go out and a lot of bars/clubs on walking distance. Public transportation is also close. Enjoyed the pool/hot tub/sauna! Has a friendly 24/7 staff.

You need to feel Budapest to enjoy the surroundings of Dob utca, but this is one of the most vivid places in the city especially if you are into ruin bars and evening attractions. I've been living on the top floors in a huge rooms with kitchenette and balcony, considering hot summer period it was very nice. Staff is very helpful, breakfast standard and more of utility not pleasure. The hotel has small SPA area for the guests with swimming pool and saunas. Rooms are air-conditioned. In overall very good impressions. But if you are claustrophobic avoid to use elevators - the are tiny and slow ;)
Please note, hotel is not in the city center and you need to understand it. It take about 25-30 minutes by foot to get there!

Room Tip: Try to get room on the top floors with a view to the inner yard.

We spent 2 nights here and it was amazing. Rooms are clean and spacious, there is a lot of nice restaurants nearby, Danube and main shopping area are 10 minutes walking distance from hotel. Stuff is very friendly and helpful, pool and spa area are ok. Excellent value for money.

We only spent one night, I wish we could stay longer. Nice and quiet room with comfortable living area. It`s a really good apartman hotel. Unfortunately we didn`t have time to try the SPA...maybe next time.

Despite being in a side road this hotel was well situated to allow us to walk to most of the major attractions in the city
The room was clean and comfortable and the pool and spa area very good
The only downside was we didn't enjoy the breakfast and would recommend you find one of many coffee houses near by to eat in other than that I'd certainly go back

Stayed here in a standard double room for 2 nights over a weekend. Hotel is well located for public transport (an hour by bus, metro and tram from the airport) and close to the Andrassy district for shopping. Staff were friendly and helpful and had a good grasp of English. The room was clean and tidy, but in no way was it 5 star quality. The decor, especially the bathroom, was tired and in rooms 103 to 111, the sound of runners on the treadmill in the mezzanine gym was a constant and unwelcome accompaniment. The swimming pool was smaller than it appeared on the website, but it was very nice, well maintained and clean. The lobby area was quite small, some seating areas but it seemed like a glorified corridor! The restaurant (Chess - see separate review) was excellent for dinner but less good for breakfast; mainly because 10 tables are insufficient to cope with anything like this size of hotel. Overall this was a pleasant short break stay, that fell short of the 5 star expectations. We'd possibly stay again, but only after weighing the hotel against 4 star competition.
