“Excellent value and good location”
Reviewed September 11, 2012 via mobile

The Queens Court is a relatively new building which marks it out in its environment as most bother building nearby are older and in need of some love.

It is located about 15 minutes walk from the city centre, about halfway and Andrassy Avenue with its metro stops and sightseeing bus stops is a 5 minute walk.

We had a 1 bedroom suite with kitchenette, dining area and sitting area and included a dishwasher, cooker, coffee maker and fridge which suited us very well. The staff were very helpful and the whole experience was excellent for the cost.

The hotel has a pool and leisure facilities.

We paid £135 for 2 nights Room Only at this hotel, and after reading mixed reviews was a bit apprehensive. However we were really impressed, a warm reception upon arrival, and the room was great. We had a suite which consisted of sleeping and living areas, kitchenette and bathroom. The room was spotless and fairly modern, and there was a complimentary bottle of wine as I had informed the hotel we were staying for my 40th birthday. The air conditioning worked fine, there were 2 lovely balconies, the bed was comfy and we liked the 2 single quilts on the double bed as it stopped us fighting over the bedding! Bathroom could have been a bit more up to date but it was clean and it did the job. The hotel was a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of Pest but there was lots to do and see along the way, and the hotel restaurant (Chess) was fantastic. A wonderful city and a great hotel for the money, I would certainly stay here again.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 106 which was perfect for us, however could be a bit noisy with the balcony doors...

The staff at the Queen's Court Hotel & Residence are very friendly and helpful. They speak excellent English and give us very good direction in finding places. Our room faces the courtyard and is quiet and comfortable. The bed is a bit too soft. The hotel is not particularly close to the centre. It would be more convenient to take public transportation than to walk to town. The tram station or even the metro are only 5 minutes away. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Hotel is a short walk away from Oktogon metro station, also near tram lines. The rooms are advertised as having a kettle and washing machine, but there were none in our room. There was a coffee maker and 2 coffee bags and barely any milk. When we asked for tea, we were told that it is not included. Hotel provided free WiFi, but the connection was useless, however, upon request, the hotel provided a cable and the wired internet worked well. The swimming pool/spa/sauna are also worth a visit, but they closed from 11am to 4pm every day for cleaning. Breakfast is not included in the room price. Overall, it is a nice place to stay in, clean and spacious rooms, but not quite 5 star.

The hotel is in a great spot and is near some lovely bars and restaurants. The room we stayed in was generous in size, impeccably clean and the staff were always very friendly and courteous.

The hotel room was an ipod docking station away from being absolutely spot-on.

I'd absolutely encourage people to stay at the Queens Court if they are in Budapest.

The room we stayed in was a "superior" room, but there didn't appear to be anything "superior" about it. Decor ok, but nothing more than an average hotel. The air con was truly pathetic.... It was 37 degrees outside and almost as hot in the room. The location of the hotel is ok, a bit far to walk in the heat to the main sights. The pool was a highlight of this hotel, very clean and nice to use after a day's sightseeing. Hotel service was average, on check out the receptionist was talking to me whilst on his mobile phone... A tad rude I thought. Overall good for the money but by no means a 5* hotel experience.

I was given an upgrade from a superior room to a family room, with two bedrooms, and balconies, at no additional costs! I was travelling alone! The check-in was swift. The staff at the reception were very easy-going and knowledgeable. I was given a map and they advised me on the places to visit. The rooms were very clean and well-maintained. The garden/ open cafe within the compound are tastefully decorated. The lights are beautiful, with the use of candles too. The pool may be a tad small, but it is no problem. There is a PC at the lobby. Read Japanese properly, which was fantastic! I stayed for a total of four nights, August 13-15 and August 21-23. On the night of departure, I did all my laundry, as the apartment comes with a washing machine. How convenient!! I bought a huge tub of liquid detergent. Can't take it home though! The cleaning staff were friendly, and quick to respond. Asked for a couple more bags of coffee, and it was delivered in less than ten minutes! Took a couple of long good baths in the tub. The whole experience was awesome! Wished I had stayed here on the other nights too! The location is central, within walking distance to Oktogon Metro, and Blaha Lhuja Ter station. The tram is right outside (6, which takes you to Szell Kalman). One can walk all the way to the Heroes Square, St. Stephen Basilica, and Vorosmarty Ter (next to the Danube and Hungary's very own Szamos restaurant). I asked for a taxi to send me to the airport. It was 25euros (6.200HUF) but it was all worth it! The tax driver was friendly, and guided me throughout the 25-minute ride. I will definitely return to this hotel on my next trip to Budapest. Will strongly recommend it to people travelling with families and friends. OUTSTANDING!!

Room Tip: If you prefer a quieter view, you may wish to ask for an apartment facing the garden. I had one on t...
