“Wonderful Exsperience we loved it”
Reviewed September 1, 2013

I was very pleasant surprised when we checked in to the Best Western Parlament. After walking in to the hotel I found a very modern, clean Hotel in a very old and beautiful Building. We were greeted by a very friendly staff, our room was large clean and modern. The Buffett Breakfast , was wonderful with many options from hot food to cereals, cheeses, fruits, pastries and an assortment of juices. I would highly recommend the Hotel to any and all my friends.

Room Tip: It is a great location, only 35 minutes to the Airport, lots to see in walking distance. Good Rest...

We stayed at this hotel for three nights at the tail end of our Eastern Europe vacation. The hotel was the best one on our trip and definitely worth all the great reviews it receives. It gives you a 5 Star feel without the high prices. It’s located a few blocks from the Parliament building, St.Stephen’s Basilica and Danube and a 15-20 minute walk to the central part of the city. It’s located on a quiet street in an attractive older building which has had its interior renovated completely for the hotel facilities.

First off the hotel staff should be commended for its excellent customer relations. Everyone we met at the front desk was professional, courteous and friendly and made you feel very comfortable. They helped with sightseeing suggestions and booked a lovely meal at Zeller’s Bistro for us. The room was a good size and decorated with a modern feel and the laminate flooring gives it a clean look. The bathroom was a good size and again modern and clean. Even though the room was close to the elevators we experienced no noise issues whatsoever.

The breakfast area is modern and chic and was well stocked with an excellent selection of hot and cold items. There is complimentary coffee and tea available 24 hours and mineral waters, peanuts and pretzels available in the bar area until 5 pm daily. There are also complimentary usage of two computers in the lobby with free Wi-Fi both in the lobby and rooms.

There is a good selection of good value restaurants within walking distance. We bought our hop-on bus tour tickets (a great way to see and get a feel for the city) at the front desk and also had our taxi fare to the train station added on to our bill. Please keep in mind that the main train station Keleti is a 35-40 minute walk.

Overall we were extremely happy with our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and stay at this hotel again.

There are many factors to consider when choosing any hotel, especially in a large city, to ensure as far as possible a trouble free and pleasant experience, at a reasonable price. This is probably more applicable when travelling to a country not previously visited, and where there is a vast number of hotels to choose from. Having read numerous reviews on Tripadvisor we opted for the Hotel Parlament for our five night stay, and we were not disappointed. We received a warm friendly welcome from the receptionist who explained a little about the hotel and provided a package of tourist pamphlets. Our room (106) was located on the first floor overlooking an unremarkable side street, but the room was very clean, comfortable and fresh smelling with modern décor and furnishings. Possibly the absence of carpet (laminate flooring) had much to do with it. The bathroom was similarly decorated, and again very clean. The only disappointment was the fact that there was no bath merely a shower, but we could live with that. Breakfast was served in the 'well' of the building under a vast conservatory type glass canopy, and again with contemporary furnishings. There was a large selection of hot and cold dishes, plus plenty of fresh and tinned fruit, all served buffet style. Complimentary tea and coffee was available 24 hours from the breakfast room, and also available from the bar area together with bottled water and nibbles until 5pm. There were two complimentary computers with internet access available for guests use in an alcove of the reception area. The hotel is situated in a quiet location slightly away from main shopping area, but just a few minutes walk from plenty of public transport.
There are certainly other hotels more centrally situated, and many with views over the River Danube, but overall I doubt if many would come up to the standard of the Parlament for the price paid. We would certainly revisit the Hotel Parlament, and have no hesitation in recommending to others.

Tip:- There are numerous ways to get from the airport to the hotel. We chose the airport minibus (approx £14 for two people) which we hadn't booked but merely turned up. We then purchased a 7 day travel card (approx £15 per person) which enabled us to use the city's buses, trams, trolley buses, metro, cogwheel railway and some mainline trains (not the vernicular railway) for the duration of our stay, and then use the travel card for the return journey to the airport. Other travel cards are available for shorter stays.

My aunt and I recently stayed at this hotel only for one day at the end of a two week river cruise. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Check-in and check-out was handled very efficiently. Our room was not ready (it was only 10AM when we arrived from the boat) so they held our luggage and we did a short walk to St. Stephens Church, had lunch and returned by 1PM to check-in. We were given a converter to charge our cell phones and given directions to the Budapest Bistro not far away for dinner. The breakfast (included) was a good selection. The hotel called a taxi for us and put it on the bill. All we had to do was a tip and he excepted euros. I would definitely stay here again.

Due to the business trips I had a chance to stay in this hotel couple of nights. The hotel is nice and clean, rooms are spacious enough, there is also a friendly staff. Breakfast is good and there is a large variety of options to choose from.

The hotel is in very good location in walking distance from downtown and Danube. Highly recommended.

Nice and clean room, friendly staff, great location.
We stayed 9 nights (because we also went to the sziget festival)
We had to check out very early to catch our flight so they made us special breakfast baskets.
If we go back we choose this hotel again.
