Good location and generally rooms were clean, but poorly lit. It was a struggle to get the luggage to the elevator (quaint old style) as there were about 10 steps up from the building's doors.
My main complaint is we were required to pay for the rooms in Forint (Hungarian currency) upon check in. We were not told of this when we booked the rooms and the quotes were in Euros. We arrived in the evening of a national holiday in Budapest. All banks and money changers closed. The front desk wasn't willing to let us pay in Euros or wait until we could get Forint the next day. He insisted we pay in Forint either by cash or credit card. As we had no recourse, we had to use our credit card.
So we paid more for the rooms because the rates quoted were converted from Euros to Forint at a lower exchange rate.
