If you have been in any Asian market in Vietnam, Korea, Thailand, Indonesia etc, then you know what to expect. You can find any kind of things (clothes, kitchenware, electronics etc) at very low prices. Even things you would find in regular stores for at list double price! Its really good deal if you have the time to check out the small 'shops' in the market. Careful!! its really big! Don't go there if you just want to see and explore a new place. If you are not familiar with the eastern culture possibly you are not going to like it..

Great destination if you live in Budapest and need cheap Made in China stuff - gloves, iPad cover, housewares, etc. Not really worth it otherwise.
10 minute tram ride from Blaja Luisa. Big expansive (not expensive) labyrinth of stalls on one side and a warehouse complex on the other that seems more inclined to sell things wholesale (i.e. packages of 20).
great chinese mini-supermarket for all your asian food cravings.
not nearly as scary, crowded, hectic, intimidating as so many other reviews suggest.

We went here on our first morning (to get the shopping out of the way) and I did not enjoy it at all. I felt very nervous for the 20 mins we spent there probably for no reason. Shame on me not to have a word of Hungarian (or Chinese) so we were totally out of our comfort zone. 5 mins in to our stroll, there was a scatter action of traders all moving at pace with sacks of merchandise - there was a police visit to look for counterfeit of which there was a lot of poor quality stuff. We didn't make any purchases and left on an expensive taxi to get out of the place.

I'm sure it is a great place for locals to do their weekly and clothes shopping but not for us!,

What an experience! Little streets with a variety of stuff, many chinese people who are playing card games, kids, locals en tourists. You can get here by metro, get off at "Kőbányai Út 31". The entrance is at te perron.
