TRAP is quite a hidden attraction. Not very obvious from the road, but just follow the address and you won't have much problems finding it.
They have 2 puzzle rooms currently and my husband and I had a great time in both TRAP 1 and TRAP 2. Basically you have to solve the puzzles as a team by looking for clues (physical, mental) within the given time. TRAP 1 is to find the password to the bomb before it detonates. TRAP 2 is to find the code to get out of the room before time is up.
We went as a couple, manage to solve both puzzles with the help of the crew who gave additional clues if they sense us getting stuck at a particular point for longer than usual. I think it will probably be even more fun to go as a bigger group.
It's a very unique experience in all, somewhat like the flash-based Crimson Room game (created by Toshimitsu Takagi in 2004) but more awesome as you can play in REAL LIFE! We've had a good variety of puzzles, some are even quite challenging. Won't go into the details coz I don't want to spoil the fun but it's great for everyone in the family. The way the guys design the puzzles are really quite creative!
Yes, it's not your standard tourist attraction (museum, cathedral, river cruise, etc) but it will definitely guarantee a great time out with friends or family. I hope they will create more rooms soon, can't wait to try more puzzles from TRAP! Our weekend trip to Budapest was a lot more interesting because of TRAP. Highly recommended. Do not miss!!!!
- Cash payment only.
- Book in advance - they do get very busy in the weekend.
- As you have a booking schedule to meet, do allow more travelling time to tram + walk over as budapest is a big city and it takes time to get around
