Visited this small restaurant and we all had very good food and GREAT service......two of us had the grilled knuckle which was the best I ever had.....nice crispy outside and very soft inside, the short rib dish was equally as good....the service fast and very courteous ....the time we where there the owner of the place greeted us also....it is a small place reservation recommended .....I will be definitely back next time ..

This tiny bistro on a quiet street behind the US Embassy has amazing food! With only 14 seats, you'll be lucky to get a table at peak times, but it is worth waiting if you have to! The simply cooked roasted meats on the menu were incredibly tender, and the mashed potatoes that came with it, divine! Service was quick and attentive, and the atmosphere was authentic. Not only was the food fantastic, the bill was surprisingly low... around $25 for both of us, including beer. Wonderful! I'd recommend this bistro to anyone visiting Budapest!

We were invited to have a "welcoming 2013" dinner on the first Saturday of the year by our friends. As they said, besides the great food, the draft Prosecco is the place's specialty. And they were absolutely right! Draft rose prosecco served by glass first, but lately in small carafe and you just simply enjoy it! Though it is really a small place, being so close with the kitchen staff doesn't disturb you at all. While they are preparing your food, they seem to be invisible. The service is gentle and smart, by the way you are served by the owner, and his wife runs the kitchen. Whatever you choose from the menu, it is absolutely fresh, the roasted meats are crispy and juicy with excellent taste. The salads are fantastic with the small grilled cocktail paradises as well as the beetroot!!! Having such a perfect dinner is a real gourmet experience!

This bistro would be easily missed- it is really small and doesn't look like much from outside. Inside it is very small- 1 room with a few tables and an open rotisserie kitchen area beside the bar.
The food is all written up on chalk boards around the room.
But don't be out off by its size or unassuming style- the food here is excellent and really reasonably priced!!
I had the young pork knuckle and it was the best I've bet had. My husband had the roast beef and it was also delicious- amazing marinade on it and some of the tastiest potatoes ever! It was all played up beautifully like it was haute cuisine!!
If you want a local dish which tastes and is presented like something from a top class restaurant then come here.
It is a real little gem perfect for a hearty lunch with tasty local beer and wine to accompany some great food.

The very small Bistro is a bit hard to find at Hold Street. It has a very tiny but stylish interior with a very nice and friendly staff. You'll only find a small number of dishes, and only the original hungarian kitchen staples but at their best.

Very quick service, very affordable prices. Highly recommended.
