We had a dinner in this place. Food was tasteless and portions too big. Seems good for tourist pensioners having their free glass of wine.

We just left this place. The goulash didn't have one piece of meat in it. Both my husband and I were served sparkling waters, open and with the same labels on them and they had 2 separate flavours. Go somewhere else....

It was our first day in Budapest and we were recommended to search a restaurant at the Raday street. We picked Pesti Vendeglo as it seemed to be cosy and the menu was interesting. We wanted to try some hungarian food, especially a goulash, and ordered also beef in wine wih traditional noodles and chicken paprikash.
FOOD - The food was good but not outstanding, I'd rather call it average. Goulash had few ingredients, potatoes, carrots, some meat and more potatoes. The main course dishes were tasty but a little poor, meat and noodles only, I was a little disappointed that they don't add any vegetables to the plate. Chicken paprikash was the best, I've eaten such sauce for the first time and surely I will have to try this again during our stay in Budapest.
STAFF - Our waiter was very kind but he didn't speak English well so there were some little misunderstandings.
RESTAURANT - We were sitting outside, the local is located at the peaceful street for pedestrians full of another restaurants. The atmosphere was relaxing and the decorations made the cosy climate. There's also a wi-fi.
PRICES - Prices are a little above the average as many tourists visit this place, but similar to the other restaurants nearby. Tip is included in the bill.

Overally it was good but not great. We spent some nice time there but weren't so impressed to seek it again if we came to Budapest someday.

Our goal was to find someplace with Hungarian dishes, really close to our hotel, not-too-pricey and cosy, for lunch. Since Raday utca is normally kind of expensive, compared to other restaurant streets in town, being in the touristic area, we walked all around it for like 15 mins, checking menus, before stopping at this one. As a person that lived in Budapest for a while, I'd say this is a very good choice if you want to try Hungarian dishes. The portions are huge, so you won't be able to eat your main course if you get a soup before. You must try the spicy goulash or paprikash. Their mixed pickles are above average.. and you know Hungarians are famous for pickles.

We ate here tonight - there were a few other diners - the atmosphere was warm and cosy.
The menu had a varied selection - we had the bean soup to start which was wholesome and filling, then the catfish stew with cottage cheeses pasta which was exceptional and the duck with blackberry - perfect crispy skin and pink and tender - perfect!
A bottle of red wine and 2 liqueur coffees came to less than £40 - an excellent meal in a pretty restaurant with the addition of 2 handsome waiters - perfect night!
