This instantly became my new favorite restaurant. As you enter you feel welcomed and loved as if you're going home to your family. The staff greet you at the door with a friendly smile. There is a good variety of items on the menu, but not too many to be overwhelmed. The meal was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. Good quality, delicious hungarian food at a very reasonable price. The atmosphere was cozy. To top it off there was live music playing the whole time during our dinner - not sure the instrument but the sound reminded me of a harp. It was absolutely lovely.

You can make a reservation on the Internet, but we arrived around 7pm and finding a seat was not a problem. The restaurant is a little off the beaten path, not far, and definitely worth finding. An all-around awesome find that you don't want to miss!

We went to this place in downtown because we saw good reviews... and we decided to try it. The location is just off Szabadsag Square which is right in the center.

We went there quite late at night, and the whole area was dead... we loved that the entrance was lit up giving us a warm welcome!.
Whe you enter the place, you see that it´s very small... but utterly cozy, and it has xylophonist playing life!
The menu is not very extensive, but the food is SOOOO good that we came back the day after to finish up trying the everything.
The stew and the gulash are absolutely essential!
Also, one of the reasons we came here was not to have to deal with check problems... and it was true. The check is clear like water, and they don´t charge you for tap water or bread.
I would definetly come back over and over!!!

I visited Hungarikum Bisztro with a friend today and we were not disappointed, in fact it was a very pleasant experience. Having read the reviews on Tripadvisor I was expecting good food and indeed it certainly was.

I had the Hortobagyi husos palacsinta, a very traditional and tasty dish, followed by kacsacombe (duck leg) also very fine (nagyon finom). I finished with a very nice capucino, admittedly not Hungarian, but still very nice.

The service was very friendly and the price very reasonable.

All in all very recommendable.

Dear Johan,

Thank you very much for your very nice comment. We tried to use only hungarian ingredients for our Bistro but I think coffe must be italian at all! :-)

Best Wishes,

Susan
