I only stayed at Wombats for 1 night to meet a friend in Budapest but it was a good experience. The rooms are great, very modern and every you need. I was suprised with how good the lockers were as well, no need for keys or padlocks, only your room card to open and close the door.
Great facilities, good bar, kitchen etc.
The only let down for me was a lack of social activities. The best hostels i have stayed at have arranged nightly activities for their guests whether it is entertainment in the bar or going out and about with a group of people.

Room Tip: If you choose the first floor, it might be a little bit noisy from the bar downstairs but you can often connect to the wifi from your room, as it is only available on the ground floor.

This place was absolutely amazing. The reception was full of pamphlets and brochures and the staff were great. They even gave us a free drink coupon for the hostel bar. Yep, the hostel has it's own bar, kitchen, a big comfy common area and lots of places to lounge and meet other people. The ambience is great, with colourful carpets and wallpaper and cute little signs all over the place.

And the rooms - wow. There were four of us sharing a room and we had our own bathroom, which was super clean and was cleaned every morning. The beds were comfy and each one had a small reading light and plug point next to it, with a small ledge to put your phone or book.

The breakfast buffet is pretty good and worth the cost (3.5 euros). You can also use the fully-equipped kitchen to cook your own food.

The place is conveniently close to the Deak Square train stop and there are a lot of small cafes, bars and restaurants in walking distance from wombat's.

Pros:
Everything, did I mention that the rates are very affordable? I paid 12 euros per night.

Cons:
It's so comfy you might be tempted to stay in.

Verdict - If I come back to Budapest, I am definitely staying here!

This hostel was an absolute dream! Clean, spacious rooms with massive lockers and bedding provided. The staff were so nice and helpful and the reception area was well stocked with leaflets and info on things to do and see. Bakeries, supermarket, restaurants, take aways and bars on the same street but no noise at night so you can get the perfect nights sleep. In the centre of Pest and couldn't of asked for more. A++++

Stayed there for two days in the 2nd week of April. Incredibly clean and secure. Room/floor/locker/hostel access is all available to you from a personalized key card which makes this one of the safest hostels I've stayed in. Pretty good location near some cool ruin bars, like Kuplung (though there are cheaper bars in the city, Morrison's Music Pub 2 comes to mind). Can't bring your own alcohol inside the rooms (unless you're sneaky about it) so don't expect this to be like party hostels in the city. On site bar that was kind of expensive, especially for Budapest. Staff was friendly but super busy, because this place is enormous, felt more like a hotel than real hostel. Great place to catch some zzzz's, but not the most social atmosphere. Free wifi and big common area and kitchen. Cleaning staff is great and makes all the rooms super fresh.

If you're looking for a place to rest between sightseeing or partying, this is the place to stay. If you want to meet fellow backpackers and go on a decent pubcrawl, I'd suggest maybe staying somewhere else.

Room Tip: Stayed in a 6 bedroom. Incredibly cheap for a 6 bedroom, absolutely worth every penny. Washrooms are clean and spacious and inside the room, so I wasn't sharing with an enormous amount of people. Shower on the floor was a bit annoying as the water covered the entire bathroom floor after everyone was done using it.

This hotel is smack bang in the middle of town. It's very new and that must be why it was extremely well kept. Services and staff were great, just the laundry had a long line. Breakfast was standard and the kitchen was also clean. The bar was good, but there are so many close to the hostel to choose from. We had a great time here, it was accommodating to all, we could stumble in at 3am in the morning or have an early night sleep. Perfect!
