The hostel is in a great location. Walking distance to bars, restaurants, cafes, subway, shopping and tourist attractions. Rooms are very clean and it's good value for money.....BUT this hostel has no social or fun vibe to it, the hostel doesn't organise walking tours, pub crawls or any sort of social events... So there is no fun party vibe in the hostel at all so don't go there planning to meet people and party.

I loved this Hostel. It was clean, the rooms were spacious and modern. The bathrooms were clean and the hostel was cheap. The breakfast in the morning was good too. It is so close to main attractions and transport as well as some really good bars. I would highly reccomend staying here.

Wombats another chain of big named hostels; having previous stayed in Naschmarkt Vienna this was better. As it is a big hostel it loses a lot of the lacklustre smaller hostels have as other people have mentioned, for us it was wasn't too much of trouble as we were travelling as a couple.
We had a double ensuite room which was quite large and the bathroom was immaculate (despite having a non-adjustable shower head).
The facilities in the hostel were pretty much brand new or fourth months old supposedly as they opened in June 2012; you can definitely see it as one being a four star hotel. The kitchen was decent although a tad tiny for all the people staying there I do believe.
It's location is great, about a 2 minute walk from the main metro interchange and located on the Jewish King street - so an ideal place to looking for cheap eats. Supermarkets littered at the top of the street at the main interchange as well.
The staff somewhat appeared lacking in knowledge when I asked a question about getting the public ferry to cross on the Danube to cross Buda to Pest. As there are so many tourists cruises about I thought they woud have more knowledge of this as I think it would appeal to a lot of people to have a ferry ride on the Danube spending little more than a public transportation ticket.
Some of the localities on the map they provided were also out of date; have searched for two vegatarian restaurants listed and realising they no longer existed or were closed.
Overall top stay if you're into cheap clean hotel priced at hostels.

Its a very nice and clean place to stay in Budapest. It's directly in the center and everything is fine, but: It's not a real hostel, it's not that personal and it is not that easy to get in touch with other travellers. But also for a party weekend in Budapest it is perfect.

Cheap, well located, makes your visit easier. Personal opinion, I think it lacks personality. But it was the cheapest option for us since it just opened when we stayed there. Definitely recommended. You can walk to many attractions and bars. Staff is helpfull and the rooms are really spacious! If you aren't in the mood for cool-hostel-hunting, any Wombats is the way to go.

Excellent hostel in a perfect location.
The hostel is so clean, the room i stayed in with 3 other friends was HUGE and such a suprisingly big bathroom for a hostel.
Awesome bar downstairs, with lots of drink specials.
A great hostel to meet lots of people from all over the world.

I am pleased with the service at this hostel. Extremely clean room, bathroom, modern interior with pleasing colors. Staff very friendly, speak excellent English and are willing to explain all you need. The ground floor of the hostel has a kitchen where guests can prepare their own breakfast, then there is housed a bar, billiards, internet room and the hostel offers a breakfast. The location is perfect, a few hundred meters from the main pedestrian and shopping zone Vaci, 50 meters from the metro station and train and from the market that works non-stop. The Kiraly Street has excellent cafe, where I had breakfast and coffee in addition to croissants, various pastries, and even omelets. Guests in Wombats hostel also have a welcome drink-a glass of beer, wine or juice. The only downside to this hostel is that there is no room in the internet, but you have to go downstairs to the basement and bring their computer, as I was tiring after walking around the city all day .. All in all, if you look at the service, location and price, I must say that the this hostel for each recommendation and one of the most beautiful where I was staying.

Room Tip: 405 is very good double- bed room
