“Maybe delivery/storage, but not pizzeria...”
Reviewed January 17, 2014

We (a couple) were interested to go into this pizza place because of nice looking head of Leonardo da Vinci at the front door. We thought it is funny that pizzeria has such a cute entrance, but it was the only positive experience from there at the end of the day...

At first, this restaurant reminded us of a storage. It looks like that pizzeria is oriented mainly on delivery and summer terrace. When you go down into the restaurant, Coca-Cola boxes, packed summer chairs/tables and ugly old computer devices are waiting for you. We even found paper notebook of the waitress on our table. On the telivision, there was loudly working darts competition no matter that besides us and another couple sitting right under the TV was noone.

We waited for a pizza for more than 30 minutes even that cooking and delivery right to your door does not take usually more than 30 minutes at other pizza places. However, delivery to our table was a long process. Broken plates (even that there were only four customers inside) was another point of their "great" service.

Pizza was not tasty at all. The one, which was called "Leonardo" (and supposed to be their special one) contained the most tasteless and cheap looking shrimps you will ever see in your life together with boiled eggs, which didn't fit into the pizza at all. It was one of the first times, when we didn't fihish pizza.

The prices didn't look cheap for Budapest: 1,500 HUF per 32 cm. pizza is a way expensive for the quality of food that they offer. In other pizza places nearby, it is possible to order drink+pizza for less than 1000 HUF or to get much more better quality pizza right to your door for quite same price. At least, you will finish it peacefully at home watching some TV show or film that you like on the cozy sofa rather than watching darts in the storage.

“Good food excellent value”
Reviewed May 25, 2013

We stayed at Hotel Palazzo Zichy which is just 2 min away from this place, Great food and amazing value for money, Service was very relaxed, we sat down at 2pm, had a meal and plenty of drinks, then we ate again and left at about 8pm....so a full afternoon of food and drink with the bill finishing at less than £15 a head!

“Lively, friendly and great value”
Reviewed September 16, 2012

We ate at Leonardo's Pizzeria in the midst of the Street Beer Festival on Friday night 14th Sept 2012, choosing it mainly because it is located just across the square from our hotel - the Zichy Palazzo - amongst a row of lively restaurants and bars. We were comfortably seated in the centre of a bustling crowd of revellers, eating and drinking from the street stalls. The atmosphere was brilliant and we were so well served by the head honcho for whom nothing was too much trouble. Our starter was fried battered broccoli with cheese sauce - delicious. I had gnocchi with spinach and sheep cheese, whilst my partner enjoyed his spaghetti carbonara. He then had a huge Hungarian pudding and apricot brandy. With 3 glasses of wine the bill came to less than £28, so you cannot go wrong here. We recommend it - and please write a review for them.

“Excellent reasonable restaurant with a vast range of offerings”
Reviewed August 7, 2012

The Leonardo Pizzeria is one of the string of restaurants and bars in the quiet, pedestrianised part of Krúdy Gyula utca stretching from Mikszáth Kálmán tér along to the corner of Horánszky utca in Pest's hip inner 8th district (the Palotanegyed or Palace District). Despite the name, it offers a huge range of dishes, including all the Hungarian favourites. Good cold draught beer and they'll offer an iced bucket for white wine. Very reasonable prices and friendly service.
