Using a segway is certainly one of our favorite ways to tour a city. If you have never tried it, please don't hesitate to give it a go, and this would be a perfect place to start. Our guide, Balázs, was great fun. He was very knowledgeable about the history of Budapest, so not only only was it a huge amount of fun, we learned a great deal about the city. We've taken many segway tours around the world and he was probably one of the nicest guides we have had. He was very mindful of everyone's safety, which is a plus in a busy city.
The weather was cold and snowy but Balázs was game and didn't rush us. I strenuously encourage dressing warmly, gloves. hood, warm shoes and socks, very heavy coat if you are planning a tour this month. We all dressed for the weather and had a great time.
Balázs was very patient and took lots of photos and video's for us with our cameras. As a result, we have some terrific digital memories.
As with many tours that you haven't paid for in advance via Paypal or credit card, I recommend taking cash, as credit card machines can be less than reliable. There are however alot of ATM's in the city that have English prompts. And, FYI, you get the actual exchange rate, with no commission fee. His shop was only a 10 minute walk from our hotel by the Chain Bridge. Don't miss this tour if you are in Budapest, I'm smiling just thinking about it.
