Echoing what many of the more negative reviews have said...The curators of this museum seem to have squandered the opportunity to make this a memorable and educational experience for their visitors. They have a lot of great material but it is poorly organised and presented. Hopefully it is better with an audio guide but we weren't offered one and wrongly assumed it would be well-signed in English too, which has been our recent experience with other museums. But no. There are a lot of videos, some with English subtitles, some not, and lots of A4 printed pages which were not presented in an interesting fashion. Lots of rooms and artefacts with little or no explanation. We left feeling we'd gained little from the experience.

Amazing and heartbreaking showcase of the monstrosities mankind can bring upon each other when wrong people lead the people. Kind staff and great ambient throughout the whole exhibition.

Total let down very unorganised. You queue for ever and then when you've paid your told to go through the crowd to lock your bag away. Then you have a strange young little man dictating what you can and can't do while in the tour, and again as with most places in budapest the staff were unhappy and seemed a chore to help in anyway

Anyone who thinks that communism/socialism is a great idea needs to check this out. The film of the Danube river with guns shots then a splash is sickening. Torture chambers and gallows in the basement. Very scary.

Tough to say this was a great museum, but it was for its purpose of reminding how terrible the nazi’s were and how they sadly destroyed lives.
Not sure it’s kid friendly.
Odd they have a cafeteria.
