A bridge. Over water. Nice.

Understand that locals are both fond and proud of their bridges, and if you have to pick your favourite (you have to), this one is mine.

This bridge - like all bridges of budapest - is a remake of an original built in late 19:th century, when all famous bridges of Budapest were constructed to tie together two cities, Buda and Pest. And remade after the germans demolished them when fleeing the city during later stges of WW II.

Do not miss this bridge and crossing over the Danube River through this green steel bridge.
Perhaps aesthetically is not so pleasing than others across the river, but certainly an experience worthy, anyway the view in each direction is wonderful, so go and enjoy it.

Liberty bridge outshines the far more famous Chain Bridge, which is grey, drab and rusty. Add a walk across this bridge onto your itinery!

Missed our bus stop and realized we were going over the bridge from Pest to Buda and thought uh oh, but it turned out ok because if you just sit tight you will get to this bridge where you get out and walk across right to the big old city market which is where we wanted to go. We just got there on the scenic route which included this old bridge. Watch out for bikes when you are walking in this city! They come out of nowhere and don't always stick to their side of the paths!

Worth a walk across, it takes you between burger king / central market, and bottom of gellert hill, which is by the gellert baths. Great views up and down the river.
