“Perfect base for exploring Budapest”
Reviewed November 7, 2012

We had a perfect stay at Zenit. This Spanish hotel is just the right size to be able to have a comfortable breakfast and a good service at breakfast. In terms of location it is very central to go to any other place in Budapest, even at walking distance. The people at reception were very helpful in their advice and really took the time to help out. The standard rooms are spacious, clean and quiet. Nice breakfast and the cooks tried to offer new things every day.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary in oct. It is very easy to locate once you get off the blue line train that drops you at Teak Der. Burger King is on your right as you walk down the 1st street u will find "the longford pub", keep walking down through 3 more streets, take a left and you are at the Zenit. We arrived early and were offered a room on the 4th floor which felt like we were in an attic room with no view, so asked for a room in a lower level. We were told it wouldnt be ready till 3. We said fine, left and returned at 3, to be told our room wouldnt be ready for another hr. We sat and waited. Finally got the room, which was much better but faced onto the road, as it was a saturday night when we arrived we got NO SLEEP till about 5am till the joy riders finished zooming up and down outside our window. Breakfast was very good and plenty to eat. The hotel was extremely central, clean, warm and well priced. There is a 24hr mini mart just 50m on the left of this hotel which was brilliant. My best advise I could give is...make sure you get breakfast included when staying in any hotel in budapest as eating out is quiet xpensive and there is a tax added on. Anna's cafe is very near to you, we enjoyed 2 cappacinos here but at the cost of 8 euros for a mouthful of coffee. Hungary is a lovely place but the Hungarians could really do with providing better signs as to where ticket desks are particularly at the train station. Also their manners leave ALOT TO BE DESIRED. Rudest, unhelpful breed of people I have ever encountered in visiting 20 countries.

Room Tip: Ask for a bedroom on floors 1-3 to the back of the hotel for a good nights sleep.

Dear guest:

Thank you very much for your comment.

The advice about how to reach the hotel is very useful and clear.

I am very sorry for the late check-out. Sometimes is dificult for us to have ready all room types in certain time. I apologize also for your unsleep night, knowing this information is a must to check the ailator conditions of the windows in order to avoid that despite of the traffic, the guests may sleep well.

Thanks for your recomendation about the breakfast, being honest, is true that sometimes, is dificult to find places with a good value per money relation in the city center. In our case, the Showcooking Buffet Breakfast is maybe a good option for 12 € per head, and even if you booked in advance next time, is 10 € instead.

Regarding your room advice, I would like to add that it is a pleasure for us to custoize the service upon arrival, so feel free to ask what you need. Even once in the room, if you think is not what you need, please let us know and we will be giving our best to find a solution.

Thank you again,

Yours faithfuly.

The outstanding feature of our stay was the staff. In particular one member of the reception team was so friendly and helpful beyond all expectations that I have to name her in the hope her boss will recognise what a gem they have in her, and reward her accordingly. If I ever come back to Budapest I would stay at the Zenit and though it is a nice hotel it would overwhelmingly be because of the help and attention we recieved from Szilvia. Thank you for all your help and advice, we had a great time!

In one of my favourite cities but this time for a conference. Main convention hotels overcrowded and overpriced. The Zenit sits one block away from Danube, right behind the Marriott. Excellent, convenient location. Rooms clean, comfortable beds, hot showers. Excellent breakfast every morning. Friendly, knowledgeable staff with excellent English. But surprise them and use a few basic Hungarian phrases and they are even friendlier! Small gym in basement - well equipped though. Two blocks off Vaci Utca if you have time for some shopping, plus a good spot for people-watching. All in all, a good spot and I will stay here again, either for business or pleasure.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the inner courtyard are a little quieter than the ones facing the street.

Thank you very much for your comment.

I am glad knowing that you were satisfied by or facilities and services.

Thank you for your room advice, I would like to add that it is a pleasure for us to customize the service upon arrival, so feel free to ask in the Reception Front. Even once in the room, if you think is not what you need, please let us know and we will be giving our best to find a solution. As you are not the first one telling this, I am afraid about our ailator conditions in the outfacing rooms, As I wrote answering other comments, we are going to do our best to check all windows and improve them if it´s necesary.

When you please to come back, will be a pleasure to offer our property. The best award we can receive is that you feel at home among us. In this way we can also prove our efforts with the ailator system in room.

The central location and the nice breakfast buffet are certainly reasons to return to this hotel. Everything is within walking diatance of the hotel: The main attractions, good restaurants, the hop on buses, everything. regarding the breakfast buffet; what a truck load of different ingredients to prepare your own perfect start of the day. Okay, It does not come cheap, but you know what they say about quality versus prices. The hotel itself is okay: clean, modern rooms, good beds. We do not give It a perfect rating because of the difficulties we had getting The room temperature down. And The two connecting rooms we had were not The biggest either. Would we come back? Yes as It is The perfect place to explore The city.

This is an interesting hotel with excellent location though not necessarily providing best view of Danube from room. Converted from an old building and managed by a Spanish chain, room is modern, neat and spacious. You just need 5 min walk to No. 7 pier for cruise trip, 5 min walk to Onyx and many nice restaurants are just round the corner.

Most important to us is the staff is friendly and helpful and the room rate is super attractive with this location and quality. We just paid EUR330 for a family room for 4 for 2 nights.
