“Ideal location”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

Spent three lovely nights here in April , Hotel in a central location near all major sites.
Restaurants and bars all are within walking distance from the hotel.
We choose not to have breakfast so cannot comment on it, but the hotel provides a cup of free tea,or coffee and mini croissant each morning to guests in the lobby of hotel.
We found all staff to be very helpful and friendly, bedrooms were basic but clean and warm, street noise could be heard early in the mornings so not great if your a light sleeper but then your in the centre of a large city.
Budapest is a lovely city and i hope to visit again the near future.

This was a great choice for our stay. Great position (central enough but not straight on the busiest streets), the staff was incredibly kind and professional and the facilities were clean. The style and atmosphere, kind of retro, were charming. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Thanks to its perfect location in the city center, I did not have to use the public transport during my 4-day stay in Budapest. You can take a ten-minute walk to get to the Danube and find a boat cruise, or find tens of shops to buy souvenirs, or even tens of restuarants to grab a bite.

Receptionists were helpful. You can find many choices for day trips at the reception. Wifi is only available for free in the lobby but not in the rooms.

This hotel is nothing special or fancy, but it is perfect for a city break in Budapest. It is perfectly located to walk everywhere (we were there for 5 days and didn't need to get public transport at all) and we slept fine. Our only qualm with the room was that it was very hot. The air conditioning in the room was minimal and the heating was still on at this time of year (16th - 20th April) and so we had to sleep with wet towels by our bed for when we started shvitzing in the night. The interior is quite dated but perfectly fine and clean. We didn't have much contact with the staff at reception during our stay, but we found one of the men to be extremely rude. He was intentionally unhelpful by not giving us full answers to questions and would not look up from whatever he was doing when he spoke to us. But the other two staff members we met were much nicer and friendlier.

Overall the hotel is spot on, and definitely try the restaurants nearby. We went to Coppola next door, which is an amazing Italian restaurant, Karpatia down the road which is a great experience with a live band, and just round the corner on the Danube is a Greek restaurant called Dionysos where we had one of the nicest meals we have ever had.

One more thing! The hotel offers a shuttle to the airport, it's a bargain at 2500 forints (about £6.50 I think) but you have to book it 24 hours in advance. It costs a third of what a taxi costs so definitely remember to book it.

I definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: We had a room at the top and it was very quiet and had a beautiful view of Gellert Hill.

I'm on par with most of the other reviews. If you are a light sleeper, this might not be the hotel for you. Although out of 3 nights on Easter week end there was only 1 night where there were some spirited singing on the street that was quite loud and difficult to sleep through on the third floor.

However, the location is close to almost everything, including two metro stops and some lovely streets close by with tonnes of bars and restaurants. The hotel's street itself is actually pretty quiet, its only when you get lost spirited souls singing on the street that you would hear anything.

The pillows were awful, I realise is subjective. The beds were huge and mattresses comfortable but the pillow long and narrow and while it looked nice and flluffy to start, your head sunk basically to the bottom and it was hard to keep fluffed.

But I still rate this hotel pretty high because of the value for money is quite high. Location really is excellent.

We stayed at this hotel last April/May, and found it to be perfectly located if you wanted to shop on Vaci Street, as well as being close to the Great Covered market of Budapest.
Our room was clean, we had AC, and WiFi was free, but you had to go to the lobby. The staff was very helpful with getting taxi, car rental company info. and all sorts of other info on restaurants, shopping, tours etc. Several of the staff spoke English very well. *We actually stayed here when we arrived in Hungary as well as just before we left to return home.
