“Nice modern hotel, noisy lobby”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

NH Budapest was a nice modern hotel with large rooms and free wifi. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel was close to Parliament and Margaret Island, but was a bit of a walk to the Royal Palace. There were close Metro stops if walking is an issue. The rooms of the hotel open up into an open lobby, so the hustle and bustle of the lobby visitors and bar goers were pretty easily heard in your room (we were on the 5th floor). Luckily, this noise did not last all hours of the night, but it definitely deserves a mention for those looking for a quieter place to stay. Also, we needed to catch a cab very early in the morning to get to the airport and they had a cab waiting for us 30 minutes before we got downstairs, which was very convenient. The cab was a flat fee that was not much more than we originally paid to get to the hotel. I would probably like to stay at a hotel closer to the center of Pest upon my next visit, but with the right sneakers, anything was within walking distance... from The Great Hall to Heroe's Square to The Royal Palace.

The NH Budapest was particularly good. It's a new hotel and has a great central location, close to trams and offers friendly staff who speak good English. The breakfast is fantastic - one of the largest spreads I've ever seen and caters to meat lovers and vegetarians and offers options to both those who wish to indulge in a 5 course breakfast and those who want to opt for healthier options. It's great value for money - Air-conditioning works (these days an important consideration for a European Summer), the bed is comfortable and the room is spacious compared to the average European hotel. I'd highly recommend this chain of hotels.

It's a pretty standard NH hotel. Clean, simple, yet no frills.
Good overnight in spacious room.
A little mould build up in the bathroom, but nothing critical.
Fresh and wide selection of food for breakfast.
Free, but very slow wi-fi (needs upgrade).
Location is good, but not in the real center, sub-optimal.
Average-higher price level.

Bottom line: goof business hotel. Don't expect luxury.
Can find a much bettter place fro a little higher price in Budapest.

Have been travelling to Budapest for 10 years now for work and stayed at this hotel for the first time last week. it was very busy with tourists of all nationalities, a great sign. Rooms were of a decent size, mine had a big patio door onto a balcony at the front of the hotel. Rooms were very clean and well maintained. Bed was super comfy with great pillows. Bathroom was a good size and very efficient shower. My only small gripe as a business traveller was that the TV was very old and only had one English channel, not an issue if you are travelling for fun of course, but for catching up on email in the evening in your room, as a new channel, it was a bit repetitive. On the plus side I had access to free wifi which was a huge bonus.

Room Service was of a good quality and the breakfast was also good, plenty of choice for all tastes. A little slow bringing coffee to the table but hey it was packed.

Overall, I would recommend and certainly be happy to stay there again for business or pleasure

This hotel has a good location- minutes to the Margaret Bridge and tram stops. It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. There were a few issues- trouble getting towels, room had no hangars, toiletries were not replenished- all of which could be a reflection of the ailing economy. Overall, a clean hotel at a reasonable price but no extras.

I have nothing bad to say about my stay here--except as a vacation hotel it lacked any pizzaz. It is truely a business style chain hotel -middle of the road... But clean, quiet close to transportation. Parts of the neighborhood are questionable but never had a problem.Great beer joint around the corner--The Blue Tomato

Room Tip: Fronts on a fairly main street- but I liked the view better

This hotel is well located, 20mn to go to the old center, close to tram or subway, and the station.
Modern, "normal", correct room size, carpark, breakfast with choice....
Now, the "internal yard" could be a problem in case of party at the bar ! Noise.
And, maybe a detail, but be careful with the TV remote control, in order to avoid 15€ of charge for the PayTV, even by error, and for 1 second !!
Now, it was a pleasant night and morning.
NB : small restaurant in front of this hotel (after the pedestrian street) with good food (pasta).
And Don't miss "the baths" !!!
