“Nice Hotel for Business Stay”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

Have been travelling to Budapest for 10 years now for work and stayed at this hotel for the first time last week. it was very busy with tourists of all nationalities, a great sign. Rooms were of a decent size, mine had a big patio door onto a balcony at the front of the hotel. Rooms were very clean and well maintained. Bed was super comfy with great pillows. Bathroom was a good size and very efficient shower. My only small gripe as a business traveller was that the TV was very old and only had one English channel, not an issue if you are travelling for fun of course, but for catching up on email in the evening in your room, as a new channel, it was a bit repetitive. On the plus side I had access to free wifi which was a huge bonus.

Room Service was of a good quality and the breakfast was also good, plenty of choice for all tastes. A little slow bringing coffee to the table but hey it was packed.

Overall, I would recommend and certainly be happy to stay there again for business or pleasure

This hotel has a good location- minutes to the Margaret Bridge and tram stops. It was clean and the beds were very comfortable. There were a few issues- trouble getting towels, room had no hangars, toiletries were not replenished- all of which could be a reflection of the ailing economy. Overall, a clean hotel at a reasonable price but no extras.

I have nothing bad to say about my stay here--except as a vacation hotel it lacked any pizzaz. It is truely a business style chain hotel -middle of the road... But clean, quiet close to transportation. Parts of the neighborhood are questionable but never had a problem.Great beer joint around the corner--The Blue Tomato

Room Tip: Fronts on a fairly main street- but I liked the view better

This hotel is well located, 20mn to go to the old center, close to tram or subway, and the station.
Modern, "normal", correct room size, carpark, breakfast with choice....
Now, the "internal yard" could be a problem in case of party at the bar ! Noise.
And, maybe a detail, but be careful with the TV remote control, in order to avoid 15€ of charge for the PayTV, even by error, and for 1 second !!
Now, it was a pleasant night and morning.
NB : small restaurant in front of this hotel (after the pedestrian street) with good food (pasta).
And Don't miss "the baths" !!!

We were very satisfied from our stay in this hotel. Everything was perfect: staff, breakfast, room, atmosphare. This hotel is sure great value for money. Its location is very good. 5 minutes from a metro stop (the line that you take when you come from the airport). Addittionally, it is 5 minutes walk from Dunabe at the level of small island of Margarita. The surround area is quite/safe with many restaurants in the avenue parallel to the hotel and a large mall next to the metro station.

This was my second stay at the NH Budapest. A very nice hotel in a very central location with very pleasant and friendly staff.

Comfortable beds, excellent air conditioning in rooms, hair dryer, make-up mirror, mini fridge as well as coffee and tea packets available in rooms. There is also a computer with free internet for guests in the lobby.

Buffet breakfast is very good with a wide variety of hot and cold foods: everything from scrambled eggs and sausages to cold cuts, cheeses, various breads, pastries, fresh fruit and cereals. Oh, yes... and good coffee.

The hotel is in the heart of Budapest so it is very easy to get to many areas. Metro stop is a 3 minute walk, Westend Shopping Mall and the Nyugati train station is a 5 minute walk, the Margit Bridge is about a 5 minute walk which you can cross and go to Buda. Many shops, cafes, and restaurants nearby, as well as a SPAR grocery store about a block away.

One slightly negative item: the rooms still have old TVs. It would be really nice if the management would put newer flat screen TVs in the rooms, as most hotels have these now, certainly 4 star hotels like the NH.

As somewhat of an "expert" on places and prices in Budapest, I would say the hotel's restaurant dinner prices are ridiculously high and expensive... you're better off going elsewhere for food that's as good at much better prices!

Feel free to ask me questions you may have about Budapest through Tripadvisor... I'm happy to help with advice!

Room Tip: Some rooms have windows that face to the inside of hotel lobby and may not be as quiet at times as r...

Stayed with friends for three nights during July. Temperatures at the time were 40C during the afternoon, but the hotel and rooms were very comfortably air-conditioned. The hotel is incredible value - we paid around £50 per night for a twin room. It's modern, has a spacious lobby/bar area, very good buffet breakfast (included in room rate), and the staff were very helpful and polite. It's a five minute walk to the nearest Metro station. Recommended!
