Although the Danube isn't as blue as the famous song "blauen Donau" might make you to believe, the sides of the river through Budapest are build up with fabulous majestic buildings. Even if you walk the river sides and cruise the Danube during the day, do not pass by the opportunity to enjoy a night time cruise on the river. The buildings are lit up and their golden shine reflects in the water. Absolute best time is starting after sunset when the sky is multicolored and ending in dark. The night cruises take about one hour. There are plenty of options to choose from and you will be given ample chances to investigate those options as representatives of each company will approach you whenever you get close to the Danube. We found Dunayacht to be the cheapest and best value. If you use the daytime Dunayacht to visit Margaret Island, you should know that only every second boat, that is every two hours, the boat will dock on the island. So if you stop, you only have a boat back two hours later. The Dunayacht sells snacks and drinks on board, but is not a party boat, so it is nice and quiet.
