“Make sure you see it.”

Cannot miss. The Danube runs through the whole city,so it would be hardto miss it, but for the less than eagle-eyed, go over the Chain Bridge to be certain!

“Magical sights at night”
Reviewed January 3, 2013

During nthe day the Danube is pretty. The historical buildings that surround it are some of the most impressive. They are well looked after and pristine outside. No big ugly modern monstrosities to ruin the views. From Pest you look up at the castle/palace and the sights high on the hill and from the Buda side you look down at the city extending back from the river.

Along the banks i some areas there are river boats offering cruises. You can cross one bridge to get to Margrit Island which is in the middle of the river and take the 1 to 2 mile walk around it. There is loads to see on the island.

But at night the Danube has to be the most scenic riverside I have ever seen. It's romantic and stunning..... beyond words.

“The Danube at night”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

First I didn't want to do the trip on the Danube but then I really enjoyed it. I loved seeing all the lights, especially now at Christmas time it was simply marvellous - like in a fairy tale.

“Truly a World Heritage Site”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

Danube Banks in Budapest are one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites...You can't even imagine the beauty it exudes unless you watch it with your own eyes. There are many sightseeing cruises offered in the city. Its really worth taking one of those and soaking in the moonlight across Danube....Truly Romantic

“Light Show”
Reviewed January 1, 2013

An evening stroll across the Danube on one of the 4 central bridges is a must when you visit Budapest. You should go even if you have already done this during the day because of the spectacular lighting. Not only the bridges are illuminated fantastically, but also many of the historic and important sites and buildings are thus highlighted. It feels like you are walking in a postcard!
