Situated right next to some of the most famous sights on Buda Hill, this hotel was a great central location for exploring the city and for viewing it at night from a lofty perch. Immaculately clean, friendly and efficient staff, high standard rooms and facilities. Directly across from the Hilton Budapest but at about half the price. I've stayed at both the Burg and the Hilton. The Hilton is, of course, fabulous, but the Burg is nothing to sniff at, and for the price I prefer it.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the square and the Mattias Cathedral for a good view.

Clean, friendly staff, but furnishing quite old, and while the view out of the window is fantastic, the location is only ideal for visiting castle hill
Breakfast very basic
Rather noisy in the morning due to street noise

Great location once you have a 3 day Budapest travel card and mastered the no. 16 bus route and the trams and underground train lines. High quality front desk service and good breakfast. Would stay here again without hesitation. Ask for room 104

Been going here for years - great position in the Castle District. Right on the square with St Mathias church and Fisherman's Bastion opposite. Nice views from breakfast room and bedrooms. Would highly recommend. We have stayed in winter and spring. Easy reach of centre down the hill (possibly by funicular or small bus) or walk - then across Chain Bridge to centre.

Stayed: April 2013

Fantastic value for position and price.100 meter walk to the top of Fishermans iconic view of Budapest at night!Friendly staff and a great breakfast with plenty of choises. We had a problem with the air conditioner and were upgraded to a better room without question or hesitation. Most professional.Would not consider any other accommodation when in Budapest.
