Our stay at the Corinthia Hotel was perfect. The location is great, the accommodations were royal and the food was delicious. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We would definitely return to this gorgeous hotel!

Attended a business event for a week and lovely Budapest.
Easily understand why there's a connection with Paris but trust me Pest and Buda are more and beyond a star on it's own rank.
Architecture, monuments, site seeing, river cruises, castle, nightlife, beautiful people, gastronomy... you name it!
In the Corinthia Hotel you got the nostalgia flavour blended with a 5 star service in the city center.
Go and try the Spa and internal pool in a glorious ArtDeco style, it's a must.

This hotel sits on the main busy road and is in a great location to everything.

Quite a large hotel with a dated feel, in a good way.

Food is great, but the bar is small for such an ample hotel, completely impractical. One visit I just did a complete 180, was packed with not many people.

Gym not great unfortunately.

Rooms were nice size, beds comfy but pillows weren’t that great. Far too soft, but if you like that then ok.

For the rate, if I was paying. I would definitely look around.

It may have a rich history, but it needs a modern day makeover! The first room we were given smelled of sewer gas...as if it hadn’t been used in months.
The air conditioning in the second room didn’t work (maintenance said they couldn’t do anything about it).
Would have moved to a third room but it was late and we had an early flight out.... happy to leave.

When you book a room in a hotel whether it be direct with the hotel or vis a hotel comparison site - you expect to get a room in the hotel.
I booked a three night stay at the Corinthian hotel through the website HotelTonight - with the only conditions that it was non-refundable and secondly the room would be allocated at check in.
At check in we found that the hotel had placed us in its resident apartment block which is linked to the hotel by a glass bridge.
Although the apartment was huge - if I wanted a stay at an apartment I would have book a room via AirBnd.
As we had arrived at the hotel in the early hours of the morning - o companies to reception that I had expected a room in the main hotel building and not in an apartment usually for guests staying for long periods of time.
The answer I received that I hadn’t booed directly with the hotel, my reservation was non refundable and that since I paid a low rate for the room - I was not able to be accommodated in the main hotel building.
The Corinthian is an iconic building and one on most people’s bucket list - I would certainly not recommend anyone wanting to stay at the Corinthian to book HotelTonight and secondly the way in which we have been treated I would recommend that you stay at other 5 star establishments that value their customers.
Loved Budapest - loved the hotel location but extremely disappointed by my treatment by staff at the Corinthian - the only bad thing we will remember about the Corinthian will be that they ruined our 25th wedding anniversary to Budapest

Dear pgupta2305,

Thank you for taking the time to review Corinthia Budapest.

We are sorry that you felt that the Front Office team mishandled your request for a room in the main building, however as you stated in your review, booking on HotelTonight for a low rate has the disadvantage of being allocated to a room upon arrival, according to availability. Lots of our guests prefer to stay at the residences, even for a shorter stay. The residences are posted as rooms on our website too, and being allocated to the residences doesn't exclude our guests from any of the hotel's facilities and services.

Again, I am really sorry that you felt that we mishandled your concerns, we will definitely investigate regarding the attitude of the Front Desk team towards you.

Best regards,
Jonathan Pace
