We stayed at the Hotel Charles for 6 days in early June. We had a very nice room and the multi-lingual hotel staff were just excellent. The location is perfect as there is a bus stop a few feet from the front door. The bus to the City Centre takes about 10 minutes.
The restaurant in the hotel is very nice with delicious meals, though a bit pricey. We opted to not get the breakfast as we are late risers and Istvan at the desk directed us to a very nice café a couple of blocks away. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants close by to Hotel Charles, and that is maybe the only drawback to a great hotel.
I should also point out that when we ate outside the "tourist area/City Centre" the meals were much better and even cheaper! Naturally, not everyone speaks English like they do in the tourist areas, but many were able to understand and they were so patient and charming we always had a delightful time.
We also felt like we were experiencing Hungary which was our objective. We had such a wonderful time!More
