After spending 2h in the Zoo, we took a nice stroll down the Andrassy Avenue. The first part, from Heroes Square, is a calm residential area, with lovely mansions encompassed by gardens from 1800's, most of which are embassies today. As you reach the Oktogon, everything becomes more vivid, actually from here starts the urban-like part mostly for commercial purposes. It took us around 1h and 15min to walk down the whole avenue, coffee break included. It was a pleasant walk and I highly recomend it.

It's worth seeing this great avenue. There're so many beautiful buildings you can admire. Liked it allot. You can stop by and visit The Opera House, the Operetta Theatre and Kodaly Korond.

One of Budapest’s main shopping boulevards, lines with elegant 19th-century mansions and townhouses and itself a UNESCO site. Don't miss the State Opera House - a neo-Renaissance building located on Andrássy Avenue.

Take a walk along the road, make sure you look up, look across the street, than walk across the street and look where you just where.

You can almost picture the amibiance of the 1800's as you stroll this beautiful road. Make sure you walk past Hosok Ter (Heroes Sq) into the Park. Beautiful.

Andrassy Ut really gives the visitor a different view of Budapest from the busy streets around Vaci Ut or the older Castle Hill area. It is a magestic avenue stretching about two kilometres to the Heroes Square and the Museum of Fine Arts. The Avenue is wide similar to some Paris Streets and as grand with up-market shopping and beautiful architecture. Well worth walking one way (it's easy to catch the metro back).
