“a bit overrated”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 4, 2013 via mobile

we went to this bath as our first thing to do in Budapest as it was rated so well, but you're paying about £12 to go in different temperature pools and there is an overwhelming stench coming from all of the taps. an experience never the less but I'm not sure this is the best one to go to.

“Needed, after walking more than 30Km in 3 days!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 30, 2013

myself and 2 friends visited Budapest on foot.. and we walked like crazy for 3 days and nights.. so, the last day we decided to spend half day @ Rudas Baths.. we ve paid for Baths and pool.. to be honest the pool isn t worthit.. you also need swimming cap.. the Baths are nice and very relaxing.. the 42 °C was a little bit 2 much for me!.. for the first time, I ve tried going from a Hot Sauna into freezing water (the small pool on the way out).. wow!... overall the place is clean, not expensive and worth a visit

“Very relaxing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2013

So, you've read about the spa baths. You've seen some are men only and are worried about it - don't be !
Whilst the big tourist Spas are mixed, Rudas is mixed on Sat / Sun, ladies only on Tues and Men only the rest of the time. Open 6am - 8pm and also 10pm - 4am on Fri/Sat.
When you go in (on a men only day) it's 3,000HUF for the spa only.
You are given a 'Loin cloth' to wear and pickup a sheet in the drying room, when you've finished in the spa to dry off with.
One main pool at around 38degree C. Outer pools at 28, 30, 33 and 42 degrees, plus a freezing plunge pool. Sauna at 50, 55 and 75 degrees and a steam room.
Don't be embarassed about the lojn cloth - we're all men, we all have the same things !
Don;t be put off by people saying it's full of gay men - it's not a cruising venue. No one bothers you at all.
Massages also available. When drying, goto the rest room for a lie down and nap before getting dressed and leaving.
Very relaxing, and a great place to chill, unwind and wash away the aches after a few days exploring the city.
Went there twice in my 12 nights stay in Budapest.
