“magic steamy piece of history”
Reviewed November 10, 2012 via mobile

contrary to many reviews we found the staff helpful at the entrance. we chose the thermal option as it was 6pm already and the session closed at 8. no time to swim too. before changing we did go round swiping our watches on random cabins until someone pointed out we needed to swipe the gadget on the wall to be allocated a number! plenty of bathers happy to assist. so many i had to wait 10 minu
tes til a cabin was free for a changing cabin allocation. dont expect to be next to your mate. if you have never been to a bath house before i can imagine feeling daunted but its so well worth it. a magical experience. dark steamy room, large stone pillars supporting the main dome with smaller pools in the corners, both hotter and cooler,to dip in and out of. saturday evening so a mixed set of men and women, tourists and locals in swimming costumes. wish we were here for the tuesday ladies only night. naked would have felt timeless

“Tuesday is a must day for ladies only”
Reviewed November 10, 2012

For the ladies, If you have doubts what to do on Tuesday, don't think twice. Go to the Rudas baths. This day is for women only, so you can feel free to be naked. The atmosphere is very relax and intimate. Amazing how they succeeded to keep the place authentic to the 16th century.
As a woman I protest and demand equality to men on the separation days: on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays only gentlemen may access the bath, while Tuesday is the only day for ladies. Saturdays and Sundays are open for both men and women,

“Horrible service”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We might have been unlucky to be treated in such a way by the lady managing the place when leaving. Staying just a couple of hours, we saw a guy getting money back considering the rules saying that if you stay less than three hours, you can ask for price reduction. Appearantly this rule is not valid anymore or only to some people. The cashier closed his desk in front of us few minutes before the closing time without a word. And the managing lady litteraly shouted at us "NO MONEY BACK, GO AWAY!"

About the place: The Turkish caving style gives some nice sensations. The place can be crowded easily as it is not as big as other baths.

My advise: Try any other place (Szechenyi, Gellert, Kiraly...) for a humanly better experience

“Old Hamas style baths”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

Very interesting. Different pools with different temperatures. The day we went, it was men only, with the men wearing only little aprons, still all on the up and up. Interesting to experience an old customr
