Very busy but beautiful. My only wish it wasn’t as crowded. Definitely makes the experience of Budapest and e en though it’s busy you have to visit

Me and my partner visited the baths as it’s a big attraction in Budapest. I was excited to go but nervous from reading past reviews about cleanliness and rude staff. In my opinion the staff weren’t necessarily rude but they definitely weren’t overly cheerful. They did help us when we had questions though. I definitely agree with others that the cost adds up if you have to hire items but the price of around £32 for one cabin and two tickets to the baths I thought was reasonable. However, I forgot to pack a swimsuit before leaving and had to hire one for around 20 pounds and then you get a small amount back when you hand it back (around £6/7). Then we also had to BUY (not hire) the slippers that they say are mandatory which cost us £20 for two pairs! This was especially annoying as we saw many people without slippers so we could easily have not purchased any. Definitely bring your own towels, swimming costumes/trunks and slippers to avoid the extra costs. I’m glad we paid slightly more for a cabin as this enabled us to change in private and was somewhere locked securely to leave phones/watches.

The pools in my opinion were lovely. We only went to the outdoor ones as that’s what we had planned from the start so I can’t really comment on the pools inside. Incredibly warm (around 32 degrees) and we spent the whole time just floating around. They were very busy but not so busy to the point where you found it difficult to move or swim about. I didn’t find them unclean like past people have commented. However, it’s like a maze inside trying to find your way to the outdoor pools, I definitely think that the dog posting of the different areas could be improved.

Overall I definitely enjoyed my time there and I’m glad we went. In the future I would be bringing my own items to avoid making the day more expensive than necessary!
The pools are also near to the city ice rink so you can incorporate a trip to both in one day.

It's funny how people can have such different experiences. My wife is a wheelchair user. She can walk a very little but stairs are very dangerous for her especially when they are wet. We had read other reviews and expected not to be able to manage but gave it a go. The reception staff are cleary not paid for their cheery disposition but was helpful enough. Price has been stated many times as but it was about 16 quid each. There were no flip flops available and towels were over a tenner so take your own. There was a wheelchair cabin available and this was very useful. ( locked by staff but safe and secure). We went about 11am and it was busy but very comfortable. The floors were clean so maybe that's a good tip. The two wheelchair lifts are I guess permanently non functioning. I had a dip in one of the outsiders pools and asked the lifeguard if there was any other route for the wheelchair. Three lifeguards lifted the chair down the 10 or so steps . There was a chair lift to hoist her in to the thermal spa. The hottest pool was lovely so we stayed until prune itis set in. The guards then did the same to get us back. They were very helpful and very friendly giving us the most positive experien imaginable. I can't thank them enough. The spa itself is vast numerous indoor pools and three great outdoor pools. The buildings are so ornate. Don't be put off give it a go and make up your own mind. It's not every day you get a chance to do something like this

We visited this bath on a Tuesday afternoon and were excited to do so having heard about the famous thermal baths in Budapest. We approached the counter to meet a very unfriendly woman behind the counter (located at the booth furthest from the door). I enquired how much it was for entrance and she gave me the price to which both is us said yes that sounds ok please. She issued us with 1 ticket while 2 of us clearly stood there so I simply said "sorry its 2 tickets please". She snapped back at us and said "u said 1 ticket only" - (we genuinely hadnt said "1 ticket only") and she actually rolled her eyes and shook her head as if we were complete idiots! She made us feel totally unwelcome and we couldnt understand why she thought 2 of us had come to the baths and yet we only needed 1 ticket??? This started our experience off on a very sour note and she never said thank you or enjoy your stay, just slapped the tickets down for us to pick up and kept looking at her screen. So we proceeded into the changing room area and the floor was filthy! We had not brought flip flops with us and could feel the dirt and grit on the floor throughout the changing and bath area. We rented towels which you paid a high deposit for and only receive part of the deposit back which worked out quite expensive on top of our €35 for 2 tickets. We made our way into the baths and noticed that there were just towels thrown all over the place in no particular order meaning anyone could pick up your towel without u noticing, leaving u without your towel to collect your deposit so we felt we could never stray too far from our towels to enjoy the baths. The steps to the outside bath were very slippy and twice we say ladies fall on the steps and really hurt themselves (they were wearing flip flops). The outdoor bath was just like a big swimming pool, chlorinated but we could see evidence of scum around the pool edges both in the indoor and outdoor pools. We found the whole experience to be so unhygienic that we only stayed about 15 minutes and got out, dressed ourselves and left to go home for a good scrub. The mannerism of front of house staff, the cleaning and the health and safety of this place leave alot to be desired. Would not recommend. High price for an unpleasurable experience but if you insist on going here, please bring flip flops, your own towel, take care on the steps and dont expect much from the staff with regards manners!

We visited in December so it was very cold outside (almost snowing) but the baths were nice and warm. One of the big pools outside is slightly warmer than the other. Good choice of pools and a sauna inside too. Well worth getting the carbon to get changed and leave your clothes
