“Hidden Gem”
Reviewed October 13, 2012

I chronicle our travels hopefully as a legacy for our children or perhaps our as yet non-existent grandchildren. I take the time to review each travel venue and determine which attractions have hold some photographic equity, but this one wasn't on the radar!

My wife and I were visiting Hero's Square and noticed the imposing sight of the tower of Vajdahunyadvar in the distance and on investigation found a pretty impressive copy of a Transylvanian castle housed within equally impressive grounds. The place is home to the Hungarian Agriculture Museum - which I am sure is worth a visit in itself but for us the architecture and the grounds were enough to capture our attention for an hour or so.

Easy to get to on the metro - make sure it's on the travel radar!

We went to the castle and were surprised by its beauty. There is a good restaurant, Anonimous. A small lake. Nice stroll. We took the metro.

“Nice park and architecture, horribly boring museum”
Reviewed August 12, 2012

The view of the fairy tale like castle across from the lake is such a pretty picture. The park is all green and is perfect for picnics.
We decided to go in to the museum. It is very boring. No multi media, just words and artifacts. We got out as soon as we could.
